On road there is a lot of body roll and the 4Runner is slow to respond under sudden manuevers, and can very easily get unstable during quick turns, but the truck manuevers very well in the dirt, speaking that is what it was designed for. There are absolutely no mechanical issues with this truck and no rust on the body or undercarriage. This one has 200+ on the clock and the engine is still strong. Regardless, with only 83,800 miles under its wheels, it should be good for at least another 200,000 miles. Repaired the minor problems quickly, and it was ready to go. All lights and electrical functions are working perfectly. General Comments: This was the car I always wanted, and found it by chance.
I purchased this 4Runner in Las Vegas. About three years ago, the current owner personally replaced the front passenger and rear fenders. Removable back top was great for the summer weather. I was in too deep by then to bail. My model was the last year to offer the removable canopy that can be taken off and give the cabin an open air feel even though the front seats are still cover by the cab.
They are great off road. I can include an original 88 tape deck with the sale if the new owner wants it. You can only hope that this can be fixed without damaging the headliner any further. The plastics are typically 1980's quality, but is is my favorite car. No matter what I came acrossed this thing could handle it, snow, ice, mud, sand, rocks, this rig conqured all. The little four cylinder runs great and keeps up with the Jeeps 4.
