Refill it with about 3 quarts then check it. If it is an automatic, then you add fluid the same place you check it. Most likely its a mazda because there werent many zf's put on f150s. If not, you need to take a syringe or something similar and add fluid until it starts to come back o … ut. Do this everytime you check the transmission fluid.
Your fluid in your T-bird shoud be the same color that it is in the quart bottle. They are sealed for life transmissions. This problem has occurred to the only two other persons that I know that own like vehicles F150, 94-95, manual trans. They have different bolt patterns. Add small amounts at a time.
Check the fluid when the trans is warm because trans fluid expands with heat and you want to make sure you don't overfill. If not then there are several different methods you can use to add fluid. You do not have to lift the motor to change the oil pan gasket, even on a 4x4. Afterwards, went to start it again vehicle accelerated, because vehicle was still in gear. Service your transmission about every 24,000 miles, or every two years, whatever occurs first. FelPro makes a good gasket for that engine it's blue with 4 blue pins that you screw into the block they hold the pan and gasket up so you can get the bolts in easier. Change Your Mind, Not Your Oil. What fluid did you put in the tranny? Remove the speedometer cable, set aside, then remove the locking bolt that holds the speedometer drive unit in place.
If you had to ask which one of the two were the problem. On the lower front side of the transmission there is a plug. You do not have to lift the motor to change the oil pan gasket, even on a 4x4. This creates a dangerous situation because you are unable to shift gears. The one I am rebuilding this week is an 05 and doesn't have a drain plug on it not many do anymore.
The 300 is a great motor and i think you'll start to love it. I would have to say slave cylinder. Clutch went to floor, C ould not move clutch, would not come out of gear. In addition to the name change, improvements in the lubrication of the gearset and capacity upgrades were made. Specific details, and illustrated instructions for checking transmission fluid levels, and capacities, are found in the Owners Manual. Fill as needed and reinstall the drive unit and cable.
