A well maintained truck with 65,000 miles. Aside from that, it shifts fairly smoothly. My locks went bad and for a few months had to open my passenger door by rolling down the window. Its used as a work truck construction during the week and week-end Taxi for the kids. It delivers 20 mpg on the highway. But every time I have try to trade it in, they would only give me 500. Gave it a tune up at 129,000 miles.
It looks and feels like it was put together with care and skill. Remotes for door locks work great after 8 years of owning vehicle and have never replaced a battery for them. Driver door leaks a tiny bit at the top in very heavy rain. For an uninitiated driver this can cause jerky shifting. General Comments: I have try to trade in this truck for 4 years. Model year 1996 Year of manufacture 1996 First year of ownership 1996 Most recent year of ownership 1996 Engine and transmission 4.
It is kind of loud going down the road. The lighter still works great. It is also the first vehicle I have gotten to enjoy for 4 years with out payments. It has a simple to understand computer system that complements the motor options well. The exterior of the vehicle is covered by strong steel and it is raised a little bit higher above the ground enabling it to pass roads covered by snow, mud or rocks. Will pull just about anything to 60 mph. The cop didnt beleive it was a stock 300.
. Year of manufacture 1996 First year of ownership 2004 Most recent year of ownership 2008 Engine and transmission 5. It comes in different colors and sizes preferred by the user. Has had quite a few mild repairs, but with as many miles as it has, what can you expect? This truck is my livelyhood and it has never failed me. Faults: Front fuel pump went bad around 119,000 miles. Stabilizer bar bushing went bad around 120,000 miles. The universal joint failed at 80,000 miles.
Of all the problems it has, I still love the truck and wouldn't call it a bad truck. Yes Review Date: 31st March, 2005 Faults: The clutch failed at 70,000 miles. The radiator and ball joints failed at 96,000 miles. Stock, Spit-shined and its still turning heads. The small V-8 is powerful, but not a gas hog. I am waiting for a big sale tomorrow. The seats have lumbar support at the touch of a button.
It is generally strong and can be used to carry luggages and goods. You keep the oil changed and water in the radiator and it will never fail you. The seats are supportive, adjustable for lumbar support and recline, although when pushed all the way back, there is not much room for reclining as the cab is on the short side. The ball joints are out and the clutch is starting to go. Plugs on front of top of motor started leaking anti-freeze on to fuel inject box causing sluggishness and poor mileage around 256,000 miles. U-joints went bad about 129,000 miles.
Yes Review Date: 25th September, 2009 Model year 1996 Year of manufacture 1995 First year of ownership 2006 Most recent year of ownership 2009 Engine and transmission 5. It is a good truck, runs good, and all that, it could just be a little nicer. Both gas tanks work great. Yet it handles great in rain, snow, and ice. Its the most reliable vehicle ive ever owned.
It's a brick, can't help it, and because it's so heavy can be a pain to get moving or get around a corner fast. It can take a good beating and keep going without a problem. It is just no need wheel alignment, heater core and main seal is leaking at 268,000 plus miles. Don't like that there is no mirror on drive side sun visor. Front tires started wearing odd.
General Comments: This truck has been through some pretty heavy duty stuff. The truck rides with a quiet, steady authority. Had some wind noise whistle on the passenger door at 55 mph. It works hard as a daily commuter, weekend furniture mover, and tailgate party vehicle. Had to replace my alternator that shorted out due to a bad neg. Smog devices on truck started cracking. The power windows still work great.
No Review Date: 5th November, 2004 I also have a 1996 Eddie Bauer f-150. Got pulled over doing a 124 mph giving her all she had. General Comments: This truck is reliable. Perfect for the little country girl to haul her horse stuff in. Of course there are still specialty shops that I use for various issues but for the most part it has been a perfect match. I enjoy the fact that I can still work on every single part of this truck and don't have to take it to a mechanic or any other shop to do regular maintenance. Its never quit in the middle of a job.
