I was able to get off the side of the road and stop. The transfer case problem was due to a thin shift fork. Was told this is a common problem with this truck. Sooner or later somebody will get hurt. I have searched the internet and found this to be a common problem but nobody seems to know how to fix it. Pulled over to the side of the road, attempted to restart truck and it did. In fact, the Super Duty F-Series trucks ride on an entirely different platform from the regular F-150 and F-250 models.
