If it's soft and you can squeeze it together, then under acceleration it closes down on itself thus preventing the flow of your coolant. The oil is not milky so I don't believe the head gasket is compromised, and oil level is normal. If you look under the hood and see wet spots on the splash shield at either end of the radiator, chances are good that your end tanks are weeping. The two are replaced as a unit.
