Anyway, I have also checked both o2 sensors, or rather the wires. Takata recall while driving my lights were dimming while driving on the highway. Then I bought an extended 4 gauge battery cable and ran it from my negative battery terminal all the way down to one of those 2 bolts that holds the starter in and ever since it starts. Have you checked your fuel pressure? The approximate failure mileage was 199,000. Tell us what you think. Air bag light came on.
Mechanic used scanner and found no error codes. If memory serves mine was testing at between 35-40psi when running at idle. The failure mileage was 49,358 and the current mileage was unknown. Sorry about taking so long to post, but I just now got the fuel pressure checked. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem. With the ignition switch on, but not started, I get 40 pounds of pressure.
But the car wouldn't start with the left signal down. I am still having issues with the vehicle. One moment the turn signal works, the next moment it doesn't. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. New tumbler can be reset to match door so as not to have two different keys.
I now have a Service Vechicle Soon light on and the car has a miss. I dont know what sort of numbers the 3. The steering wheel was extremely difficult to handle when attempting to make a left or right turn. I have attached the url for the recall:? The contact stated that while driving 10 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. It did not miss or cut out at all. On one occasion the car would not start until the third crank of the key. First I want to thank everyone on this board.
Also, I have changed the fuel filter the old one was not clogged. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. I have also had to replace the air pump that pumps air into the emissions system twice, and it is still having problems. The failure mileage was 70,620. I am still having issues with the vehicle. I assume this may be due to the fact that my traction control, service engine soon, and service vehicle soon lights are all on. Yep, I'm willing to bet those Bosch +4 spark plugs are at least a good chunk of your problem.
This would have saved me a lot of time. The key had to be pushed into the ignition due to the fact that the key was not fully secured into the ignition and was also difficult to insert. It also affects exterior lighting. Will work fine for a week maybe even a month then out the blue won't start. The vehicle was taken to the dealer.
I use to love working on cars back in the day, but that was before all of the computer crap. On one occasion the car would not start until the third crank of the key. This can all occur within a few miles. The lights will dim while driving, also. Thanks, I will let the board know what I find.
I would think the plug boots would exhibit similar problems as plug wires. While driving approximately 15 mph, the engine stalled and all the warning indicators on the instrument panel illuminated. After reading several post about the ignition switch, I pulled it out yesterday, and replaced it. However, when I took them to a repair shop, they could not duplicate the problem. Do not turn the ignition key in the lock cylinder. I drive on a highway 80 miles a day. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop where a mechanic diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced.
Thanks again to everyone for the help so far. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000. Or did it just start? And Ruley73, you said the Bosch plugs were really not that good for this car? Just because a car has been recalled does not mean it is not a reliable car. It's a no crank no start issue and the security light is not blinking. I dont know of a good way to test that though.
The contact managed to park the vehicle in a parking lot and had it towed the following day to a repair shop. You might get a cheap fuel pressure gauge and hook it up. Dodgevanner answered about a year ago We had replaced the ignition switch at the start of our problems and therefore did not consider it again. I replaced the ignition switch and that solved the problem for ~1. This product allows easy mounting to your vehicle. The dealer did not diagnosed the failure. The car runs fine, but the engine light is on all the time.
