It could be a poor connection from the battery to the starter, a problem with the keyswitch, a problem with the connectors between the keyswitch and the starter solenoid or a problem with the neutral lockout switch. After about an hour it finally started so drove to Cadillac dealership. Since I've had the lowjack taken off I've had problems with starting the car. I've had this problem where I couldn't start my car and it turns out it was because the security light was on. I instructed my mechanic to find those wires, make sure they are not worn, and to wrap them in electrical wire and replace the looming. Several hours later, walked to gas station to try my car again. The trunk opens by itself, and the door locks don't always work. I followed the instructions they had for reseting it, and that took care of it. After trying everything I could think of to get it working again I put it in the shop. I immediately browsed this site to see if anyone else had a problem with that, and one person said he found 3 worn wires coming from that sensor, laying up against the intake manifold. I took it for a test drive it ran great I parked it and tried starting it before I went to bed it fired up and ran right away. So the same thing happend earlier 2nite. Hit the lock bottom wait a couple of seconds hit the unlock button just once.
I called the towing company and they took it to the mechanic and it started 10 times and they could not find anything wrong. The car keeps turning over but won't crank. Hopefully this will help someone else out. Because this piece of crap apparently runs everything off of the stereo wires. The contact stated that the ignition key failed to turn until after several attempts. I changed the ignition switch once. Sometimes it works when you turn the signal on, and other times it does not work. It leads me to wonder if the mechanic is just resetting it and charging me for it until the next time. Have them check the codes while its working fine. I stuck the key in the ignition, crank, crank, crank, the car refused to start, the fuel pump was pressuring up and I had spark yet the injectors would not release fuel. What size engine do you have? If that not it then your fuel pump is probably bad. It ran fine all day yesterday, got up today and will not start. Right now the most annoying thing about this car is the turn signals.
