Now awaiting appointment to replace trans cooler. This is crazy for a car that is just 2-years old. Each incident occurred with different drivers. The mechanic stated that the vehicle needed a new engine and transmission. I have found 7 other instances of this happening but they did not seem to care. On aug 24th, when I pulled out of the parking lot, the car died.
No car with 53,000 miles should need a transmission. Died on the highway 2 days after the engine light came on — as I was driving it to the dealer for service and inspection. This is the first time that car died on me while driving. But unfortunately my car is not working so I have to tow it there. Towed back, 1st they said Transmission. The dealer only guaranteed the rebuilt transmission for 12 months or 12,000 miles. There was a problem with acceleration - with acceleration pedal fully depressed engine was revving up to ~2,200 rpm and car barely accelerated like it was slippage in the transmission.
The entire cvt transmission was eventually replaced while the car had only 4500 miles on it. I mean it is new but the problem in it will come again. I took the car to a reputable, ase certified mechanic. The vehicle was taken to two dealers and the radiator and crank sensor were replaced. I have had it in the shop for the same thing 5 different times.
I thought nissans last long time but I was wrong. My daughter ran to the car to see what happened and verified if the car was in 'p' or not. She took few bags each time to the kitchen so she traveled few times from the car to the kitchen. My insurance didnt pay it all off so Im out a car and still owe for what i believe was a defective vehicle. Well, I called a Nissan dealership the exact same one that replaced the first one ; they new exactly who I was.
When I get it fixed, I will be changing to Toyota. This happened sporadically and it also occurred while driving on a highway. I am disgusted that I am reading all the transmission issues these cars are having as the 2 other Nissans I had in the past gave none of these issues. Out of extended warranty by 300 miles. Get a detail shop to make the car look good.
When I am accelerating, between 20-35 mph my car makes a loud nose and hits between 4000-5000 rpms, but it feels like it is losing power and is very slow to speed up. I tried costing the car a bit,tried driving it forward a bit,I even shut the car off in neutral, nothing worked. It went regularly to check ups! The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they test drove the vehicle but could not duplicate the failure. I have driven a number of different cars and am 100% sure of the transmission problem with Nissan. They did not fix because they all do it. The investigation concluded that the vehicle could not be replaced under the lemon law because the time had expired. My 2003 Nissan Altima 2. It slips between 1st and 2nd gear. So I ask them if I get a nother used tranny if they would put it in they said no. Don't want a reconditioned car. Nissan had issued a recall, the car needed the ecm reprogrammed. I have to stop 2 hours and let the transmission to take a break for 20-30 minutes.
