If the voltage is between 0 and 1 volt this tells the amp to mute and play. Above the silver factory amp box is another smaller metal box that has a wire harness that connects to the amp -- all wires harnesses appear secure. Could be a short in one of the speaker wires. I see it and check the wire harnesses -- all seems secure. I can however plug headphones into the rear seat jacks and get radio, so that works, just not sound through the speakers.
If it shows between 3 and 5 volts this tells the amp to mute and stop playing. I get no radio, door dings or Onstar as everything runs through the radio. Could something be screwy with the Bose amplifier under the center console? It's right in the spot where the orange wire is supposed to be spliced, but all I can find are several skinny orange wires, no thick ones. I do not really have a lot of room to open the pack and find one set of wires. One of the speaker wires in the door was grounding out and the radio went into protect mode. If the above steps indicate that the system should be playing then check for power and grounds to the amplifier and if ok, replace the amplifier. I do not really have a lot of room to open the pack and find one set of wires.
If it checks out then the radio is bad. Let me know if this is the correct place to look and also if there is any easy way to get at all the wires. Get in the truck and be as quiet as you can and turn the key. With sincere Thanks and Appreciation! I had a hard time finding the wires you are talking about. If there is, then the radio is producing audio. All the lights still work on the radio as they did. This feature helps to protect the radio from being used if it is ever stolen.
Working like a champ for about three days straight, after it had been totally silent for about a week. All the lights still work on the radio as they did. Or an issue with the radio itself?. I used the harness adapter, so I did not have to cut any stock wires. How much of the molding to you have to remove to find the wire loop in question? I've read on another board about taking practically your entire interior out to do this and it ain't worth it.
Maybe you have an exhaust leak like around the donut gasket. Here is a guide for you to check the power and ground of the amp. The player works fine in other vehicles. It fully has not worked for the last couple of weeks. Check pin B6 amp mute for 0 volts to 5 volt. Anyway, maybe this will save somebody some time. I bought a used 2004 Solverado.
I had the center trim post between the doors off and the door sill trim loose too. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. I got tired of this and put in an aftermarket cd player. The stereo system suddenly went out. Sometimes it would just start to work for a random amount of time. If the above steps indicate that the system should be playing then check for power and grounds to the amplifier and if okay, replace the amplifier. When it works, it works awesome, and there is no interruption or cutting out going over bumps.
Some wiring diagrams I look at show a factory amp. Check pin B3 switched 12 volts for 12 volts. Try the bypass before you start yanking the trim and pulling up all the wires that you'll have to jam back under the carpet later. When I step on the gas it gets a little louder while I let off the gas it gets less of a sound. I suppose if your cat is going bad it could put more pressure on the donut gasket. The problem was fixed in less that 30minutes and I can honestly say that I neverwould have figured this out without your advise. It is the indash 5-disk changer with bose system.
I have checked all fuses, circuit breakers. It happened again yesterday, but this time the clock still held time correctly, I just had no sound again. Check for audio at the Rear Seat Audio controls through the head phones. The aftermarket player turns on, tunes into a station, but no audio at all. If you do have the code, you can reset the radio yourself. I had a hard time finding the wires you are talking about.
