Had it checked dealer says it's your computer it happens all the time. I think that this a problem while driving. Driving from work pass a police running 110 mph. The contact stated that the entire instrument panel was reading inaccurately. The speedometer will frequently reset the point of zero mph. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired at the time of the complaint.
Jan 27, 2010 Its a common issue with trailblazers. You can be doing 25mph and it will read 110mph or you can be doing 60mph and it will register 45mph. I don't know if the vehicle was doing this prior to our purchase. While parked, the contact noticed that the gauges on the instrument panel would not function. This is a very unsafe issue and if I cant resolve this I am going to have to trade in for another form of transportation. There is obviously something wrong. I think that this a problem while driving. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000. This should be a recall by now.
I know a lot more people who have replaced the part twice and it still fails out. The last weird thing is my odometer went all the way back to 0. However, I would say once out of every 15-20 times I drive the car the instrument panel and gauges work flawlessly. Remove the screws retaining the bezel to the instrument panel. The contact stated that at times the entire instrument cluster would malfunction. The vehicle was not repaired. And couldn't' get in until tuesday.
The dealer stated there was an internal failure in the ignition switch. There are numerous complaints on the internet about this problem and no recalls but I believe this is a huge safety problem, expensive to replace and also many reports of the problem re occurring. So could you please help before someone gets hurt bad over this problem. Later in 2009 the alarm system decided it wouldn't work anymore, or it would set itself. According to the invoice, there was an internal failure in the liftgate module which caused the door locks to malfunction.
The tach has the same problem. The gauges point in all different directions and the speedometer quits working halfway through a drive. The contact was driving approximately 40 mph when all of the gauges and lights on the instrument panel failed. After a few days my battery went dead. In addition, some of the dashboard lights seatbelt light, etc.
Cost to fix this issue is very expensive and not acceptable. I have always been a chevy man, but it looks like I may end up changing my loyalty to another company. But after some research I have discovered that this is a very common problem with this vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. Soon after this happened, the check engine light came on and we were having all kinds of electrical problems with sensors going bad.
