I have e-mailed the person who printed the cog to ask hom how he attached the auto park contacts onto the printed cog, if he attached them at all as in the video it only shows the motor turning the new cog successfully, but not parking! I thought I would add a hint here regarding the tailgate trim. Cover the glass around the spindle with thick rags and very gently trickle hot water on to the spindle assembly whilst wiggling and pulling the arm base. Tarspots can be removed with kerosene or tar remover. Car is coming up to six years old now but doesn't get used that much with only 30k on the clock. Much easier to get get hold of one of these and canibalise the parts to fit back into the Volvo version. At least for a wiper motor issue! Hope this helps, Nobby I found R-P's post today and it was very helpful in my renovation of my wiper motor.
You can see how the clips are attached in the picture. My plastic cog looks okay. Thanks for the useful info. Hi, I've got my Volvo in the dealers now and Im not particularly happy with them at the moment - Im having the top service done one my car and they've just rung me up with a whole host of things that I can do myself i. I would get an independent auto electrician to check it out, or have a look yourself. While I was looking into it, I thought I'd do a final piece of research, and post the results in the hope that it helps someone else.
Thanks R-P Bench Testing, for me, meant holding the unit in my hand and plugging it in to the connector. Only thing I can think of is that there is some outside electronics determining how long power will be given after getting the signal from the contacts in the white cogwheel that it is in restingposition. So even though the white toothed wheel goes round and round, something in the motor shifts during this reversal of wiper-arm direction. A car made by Volvo can be completely trusted to exhibit rock solid manufacturing standards. Correct replacement windshield wiper blades are not only correct length, but also correct attachment. In the 'after' picture, the nut on the motor shaft should be visible, so I should have had the first linkage from the motor 180 degrees around.
Cleaned, greased white lithium spray , bench-tested and back in within half an hour! This means I also got rid of the o-ring groove for the little o-ring. When replacing be careful to line it up on the spline in the correct place or you may not get the correct sweep on the windscreen as we say here. I think the O-ring is still in there. The corrosion expands and locks the arm on the splines. Vehicle Event DataYour vehicle's driving and safety systems employ computers that monitor, and share with each other, information about your vehicle's operation.
Paint repairs require special equipment andskill. I moved the switch back to continuous mode and the motor did not turn. Just as a side note: if you remove the armature of the motor and need to reinstall it into the main gearbox housing where the motor brushes are, use large un-crimped staples to keep the brushes and brush springs compressed while you slip the armature in. Not sure whether the axle is supposed to rotate inside the shaft or that the 'ball-jointed' bearing is supposed to rotate within its outer part as well. Had the same problem with my 2004 v70 and decided to follow your tutorial. When fixing this I may have added a new problem, or may have overlooked an existing possibly bigger problem: the bearings of the motor.
The car owner - for the first time in his life apparently - took the failed part. If you can give any ideas it would be appreciated, otherwise i will bite the bullet and buy another unit from the breakers yard. There is a repair kit. Presume you gave the commutator ring a good dry clean. Many thanks for a great post which has saved me a couple of hundred quid. On disassembling it, I found that the centre of the the three fingers under the main gear white was badly corroded. We will not provide a replacement or credit for any part not purchased directly from our store.
Now these things do have a relay that causes them to park. I've checked the fuse, and given the motor did turn once, it looks like it's getting a supply, but I'm a bit stuck now. Alas, I have a but: you start at the point where the motor is on the bench. Tricky isnt the word for it!! Country of Manufacture: Czech Republic Manufacture Quality: Genuine Shipping Weight lbs : 1. Does it the wiper arm continue after resting for a short while? Ideally you then need to ensure that the hinged armature thingy is moving freely and to grease it.
Eventually fixed after 2 years! This is the way to test if something is wrong: I posted the currentdraw on mine, which by heart was in excess of 6A ampere at about 12V before solving the shaft-bearing issue and 0. Wife's '06 exhibited this problem this past winter. It can only be fittedin one way. So it always wipes part of my rear-door, or I have to assembe it facing slightly upward, hence it being annoyingly in my field of rear-view vision. Cleaning the seat beltsClean only with lukewarm water and mild soap solution.
