After that each gauge started dying one by one. At that point I wouldn't even trust the gauges. The car wouldn't take gas but the gauge displayed not quite full. This has happened 3 times; the first time on January 28th 2010, and twice on the night of February 4th 2010. I need some help on this issue.
The speedometer seems to increase even if I am at a steady traveling speed. However, this must be done multiple times, sometimes up to 10 times or more. Website is below if you wanna check it out: Thanx everyone for your help. They recalled the same cluster that was put in the higher priced vehicles but will do nothing to help us out. There has been a recall on the other Chevy trucks with the same speedometer but has not included the Trailblazer. It was a faulty cluster. I didn't have the money for it at the time.
If it does not come on for one year change the oil anyway and reset the system even though the light is not on. What did you find out? I am not sure about the 24 fuse, I just unhook the battery cable. Now it has gone up and past the highest mph reading on the 2005 Trailblazer. But that's merely a stepper motor kit with soldering tools. I believe it is a problem with the cluster.
The rpms dead, the speedometer would be all over the place, stating at 90 sometimes all the way down in the blank area and sometimes would act more like a clock than a speedometer. Lucky for me I got to show the officer my dash. Starting a couple months ago the speedometer regularly malfunctions and gives me the wrong speed. If your vehicle is equipped with an oil life monitor system then change it when the system tells you too and reset the oil life monitor. Perform steps 5 through 8 in a fairly rapid succession. I don't really have the money to play the buy a part and see if it works game. It stopped working and started back on its own.
I need a solution, that won't cost me and arm and a leg. This evening I had to restart my truck 12 times to get it back to zero. All the gauges stopped working except speedometer and tach. I have been reading forums about this problem with Trailblazers all over the U. Really love the vehicle until in 2011 the oil gauge quit registering? I'll see if I can find out where that cluster went, I know it was actually rather cheap.
I could be stopped and it would say I was going 85 miles per hour. The hardest part is to just make sure you can reach it from the ground. You should be all set. Make sure not to contaminate the brake fluid when removing the cap and make sure to replace the cap when done. Mine tried to quick working for me only one time, but corrected itself within 24 hours. The speedometer will increase during acceleration and not move for deceleration.
An important step is to take some tape and use it to mark where the needles rest at their left most state. I have contacted Chevy and they seem very apathetic to the problems. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact stated that the speedometer registered a speed of 120 mph; although she was driving 60 mph. I have read numerous complaints from other Trailblazer owners on the internet, this is what moved me to file this complaint. Also my oil pressure gauge needle is way passed full and is almost facing straight down. On modern vehicles the instrument dials are operated by the use of stepper motors. The best way I have found is to have the vehicle up on a ramp.
Since there are over 22 different wiper arm attachments, do not buy wipers just by length only - be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. The gas gauge quit registering Sept 2012, I called my Cheverolet dealership as I had done some research online and found out that for my year and model there was a recall because of the gas gauge issue. I have to reset my odometer every damn time i fill up and wacth my mileage so i know when to fill up. Either way, there's one thing everyone seems to agree on: the darn thing is just wrong. After further study into the problem my mechanic says its the instrument cluster. Then the speedometer started sticking. Chevrolet needs to come around and make good of correcting and fixing this problem as it is a problem that should have never occurred!!!! This is not the first faulty dash that I have had, I had a Chevrolet S-10 Blazer 1990 that had a digital dash that completely went blank and I had to take it out and take it to someone other the Chevrolet as they could not help me.
Very annoying and scary, not knowing how much gas you have or how fast your going. Let's hope it doesn't go out like the oil gauge has and the fluctuating speedometer. The speedometer no longer works at all and the oil pressure gage has failed as well. If you ask me, I believe it can be a serious safety hazard when you are uncertain as to how fast you may or may not be driving. Next comes time to install the needles and this is where you will use your previously drawn marks.
Bad switch on one of the doors. Please check into this since this is my wife and kids car. A couple of months after, my wife ran out of gas. This eliminates the need to bleed the brakes. Then the gas gauge started malfunctioning and the gas light would come on and the low gas bell would ding even when the truck was full of gas. I pulled the 24 fuse overnight the the next day put it in and the truck started right up.
