Engine and transmission are both completely irreparable. I then called the finance department to find out about the warranty they said its not covered , I don't know im so mad about this I love the car but hate the people behind it!. I currently own a 20 year old vehicle with almost 200,000 miles and I have never had problem with the clutch. When I asked why the bearing was not covered, I was told it was a ¿wearable¿ part. I drove from far to get car. Buy used Mitsubishi Eclipse transmission from our network that offers up to a two-year warranty on qualified units! If this had happened on a railroad track or a drawbridge, I see this problem as potentially life-threatening. The first time the fluid was changed but it didnt help.
After this ordeal, I refuse to ever purchase another Mitsubishi. But when I turn the key, all I hear is one loud click but car wont start So far th. I believe due to multiple complaints of the same origin, that this part could be ¿faulty¿ and should be covered under warranty. No evidience of low oil level or other maintenance neglect which led to the catastrophic failure. I have contacted my local Mitsubishi dealer service department and have been told that it is a bad synchro. Then asked if I drive it hard. Well I had major work done everything was put in new, about a month later my driver door handle falls off, that cost me 150 dollars! So recently I've been getting on the freeway in 5th 6th gear and the car is revving but not going, so I went back to the same dealer told them what's up and without even diagnosing the problem said I need a new clutch, I then reminded them I just had it replaced 4 months ago they tried to say it was for something else when in fact I remember him clearly saying you got a brand new clutch. I am the only owner of this vehicle. Vehicle has been in for service three times. They treat you with respect.
