I'm guessing any pontiac g6 has potential to have issues with the torque sensor steering column and pontiac does not care. Given the history of the problem, I feel I am being unfairly ignored in my request for repairs to be made again under the recall since apparently the installed parts were defective.
The first time was under Warranty and the steering column was replaced. They have stated that my vehicle has a couple of recalls but the power steering issue is not one of them. While driving low speeds or while the vehicle was stationary with the brake pedal depressed, the steering wheel seized. The dealer stated that the vehicle exhibited the same symptoms as listed in manufacturer recall number: 14772; however, the vehicle was not included. I've been the only driver! My battery was fine and all that jazz. I could not steer for anything. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The contact also stated that the vehicle was previously repaired in 2014 for the same failure. I am driving a potential death trap. Warning appears every time your start the vehicle indicating a problem with the power steering. From now on each time it happens, I will list it on this site.

On christmas eve of 2o15, our steering wheel locked up when my husband, 9 year old son and I were driving home. I had to pull to the side of the highway in heavy traffic using great effort in order to avoid an accident. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact was shifting the gear from drive and reverse numerous times while her son was attempting to push the vehicle out of the snow embankment. We asked if it was safe to drive, they said it is right now, so we drove it home. I feel that the new part is just as faulty.
The failure mileage was 193,000. I'm not going to let this one go. Yep, we think so too. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and turned off the engine. While the vehicle was stuck on a snow embankment, the steering wheel seized without warning. The failure mileage was 57,000. I know the car is almost 11 years old, but I have taken care of it since new, shouldn't i be allowed to expect proper service out a vehicle that I put the proper care in to? The approximate failure mileage was 78,000. Air bag problem has been occurring for a few years now but happens almost every drive now. I am a single girl who lives alone, I had to rent a car for a planned trip, as my power steering stopped working and I was able to drive my car. I told them that when I pulled the year on my car , it said there was a recall for the control module and they said mine was made too early in the year or something and he also said its a very very common part failure. The failure was experienced several times.

I have never been through so much and my mother has not been the same since her brain surgery. I know, I am supposed to mention the problems with this car separately and I will from now on, but I've experienced everything from brake lights not working to air bag issues as well. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The power steering warning light illuminated. I do not know where to go from here. Now, if this is a known problem that required a recall, but the 'fix' is only temporary, they are not really 'fixing' the problem, are they? The issue has come and gone a couple of times since then luckily in less dangerous situations with the worst one even leading the vehicle to steer towards the side of a street striking the sidewalk.
