I couldn't get the wipers to work at all for several days. The relay can be heard clicking but the wipers do not move. Ive changed the wiper stalk and changed it back to the original. I am also sending this letter to Volkswagen's consumer complaints department, Consumer Affairs, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for their review. Went for a test drive, using wipers randomly and on all settings. .
I pick up car and of coarse, wipers still make the stupid noise. I own a 2012 vw Jetta. Upon being turned off and standing in the garage the wipers began to work again when I turned the vechile over. It can be bench tested. It ruins this cars refinement when its raining, it's so annoying and very noticable. The wiring harness inside the boot of the driver's door showed signs of wear. When I got in, I heard a loud pop. Different slave modules for different systems may be on the same bus wire , thus one failed item causes several other items no longer perform to factory design. It has nothing to do with icy blades or frozen snow, it simply does not work when temperatures are very low. Its -17C so the washer fluid just makes a mess I can't see through.

I think only thing left is the lin bus wire to the wiper motor. It is even darker than illumination while headlight on at that time for experiment. The defect is a safety issue due to the blocking of the driver's view. If the motor runs, then there is a problem with the linkage.
I know it's a warranty issue but you know how the dealers are if they can't replicate the problem. Any ideas out the guys?!! First, basic issue is, automatic gauge backlight intensity controls till zero while driving on day time, but the zero level under darker ambient lighting surround area is preventing driver to check speed that violating the regulation. Both are easy to replace but you have to purchase the correct wiper blades. They didn't work at any temp and when I assisted them they would move.
I was forced to drive with extremely low visibility as I was not able to clear the incoming snow off of my windscreen. Wipers then worked briefly after replugging in wiper motor. No change, still no wipers. This is a latent safety defect. The wipers usually seem to become operational again once the vehicle is warmed in the sun or if the ambient temperature rises about 30 or so degrees fahrenheit.

The consumer stated 2 out of the 11 wires were broken, including the ground wire. The headlights, turn signals, Heater and back hatch switch won't work but, the flashers work.
Now I have two new faults: 00834 rear heated window short to ground? I had the exact same issue. One should light the test light. Windshield Wiper Motor Driver Side V216 faulty. Control Module in Local Data Bus faulty. If it has come apart, could be either a nut loose or the ball joint is shot. I have no clue what's wrong with it starting to think its Christine from the movie. I guess only thing left is wire corrosion or break on the lin bus wire.
