The guy who sold me the car also replaced it. Took two trips to correct. For example, if a vehicle's backup camera does not display, the radio may not know that the vehicle has a camera. The fix was not successful so I am taking it in again in a week. The starter was faulty and had to be replaced by mechanic after car towed. This radio will work with steering wheel controls and the Infinity Sound System. First make sure the display is open.
Problem now appears to be solved. I told them that was what I had asked for them to look at the last visit. Disconnect battery negative terminal or radio power for one hour or longer. They replaced the recalled fuel pump relay as had been done numerous times before Brake lights not functioning, due to faulty switch on brake pedal. Told they would need to replace the head unit, but replacement part was not available.
The Jeep made 4 trips total in February for the sensors alone and it's still not fixed. Nothing will be damaged, but the system will not work. The interior lights didn't turn off for a while so that was fun. They replaced a module yesterday and the light came back on today. I'd make sure that somehow the clock and radio wiring is not reversed and that the radio is well grounded you can add a ground from the case to the main dash rail if you need to. Not interested in the same faulty part. The dealer couldn't find anything 3000 mi backup camera was intermittent.
Old one broke Plastic part. Both Window Regulators replaced due to auto up failure. The best tool in the box is always a hammer. This will be the last time I will buy a jeep. Premium radio with Digital equalizer for maximum sound control. So far the fix has stay with us and would probably justify another tap if it should fail again rather than pull the whole heater unit out. Vehicle has been back 3 times for this problem.
If it does reoccur, repeat the procedure. My daughters iphone 4 is often a problem though. Then drive the vehicle on main roads which are more likely to be in the database until the current location is correctly shown. So no turn signal or park sensor sound. Dealer finally received the replacement sun visor--it was replaced under warranty. They don't want to give a fair buy back price on the car, knowing we have a 19 year old driving the vehicle. Dealer adjusted drive belt, but problem remains.
Gremlins have caused failure in several electrical components in last 4 years. Jeep seems to be helpless with the information they can give me. Experienced issue only once before receiving recall notification. Temporarily fixed by using a block of wood to shim the blower motor wiring connector so that it would make contact. Once the current location is accurate, the problem should not reoccur unless the vehicle is transported while not operating on a ferry, railroad car, transport truck, etc. Replaced the newer design blower motor resistor twice and the blower motor once and still have no blower. Replaced battery 28000 mi Occupant classification module in the front airbag system required recalibration to extinguish the airbag light on the dashboard.
Replaced compressor, condenser, receiver-drier and expansion valve. But when i bought that car used it was in the summer and i did not bother to check if anything worked, and when it started to get cold outside I started to use the heat and it only blows out hot air on the passenger side and the driver side it blows out cold. Tech confirmed problem, found software update and flashed computer seeming to solve problem. Purchased and replaced the fuse. Found a short in electrical system.
