The outboard backrests, which are oddly sculpted to accommodate lowered head restraints when the seat is folded, might get irritating on a long trip, but this is a minor issue; seat comfort and roominess is otherwise good. It's never been far enough to go through an entire tank in one go where I was paying attention to the mileage. I want a good baseline to compare to so when we tow our camper so I can see how much it drops. The gauges are the hardest to read, in sunshine, that I've ever had in any vehicle. Unfortunately, we had an accident on the freeway and it was totaled. The most prominent alteration is the nose job, where Ford's now-signature four-bar grille sits front and center. That's slightly more than a similarly configured Tahoe, but a little less than the Nissan Armada.
It goes without saying that you have to take corners with care in a vehicle like this, but has been reined in fairly well. Over-the-road comfort is good and the handling feels balanced. Overall, a great vehicle, what I would expect from a Ford truck. With all this vehicles offers and including its reliability as well as its capabilities, I would rate this vehicle at 5 stars for the many factors it offers and excels in. Versatile, fits three large car seats across easily, and can also fit large strollers or lots of stuff in the back.
Other than that, a consistent cruising speed down the highway 65-70 mph should net you nice results. Plugs and coils love to play. Vehicle Details Seats have been redesigned with improved contours, bigger bolsters we'd still hope for a little more lateral support , softer cushions and upgraded materials. I would buy this vehicle over again. Driving It With the enhancements made to structure, suspension, steering and braking, the 2008 Expedition is far removed from its truck-derived predecessors. Doing regular maintenance this vehicle will easily go 500,000 plus miles on the original motor and transmission.
