Sporty Looking Communter — Very disappointed int he maintenance and reliability as we had to replace breaks three times prior to 90,000. But we wish Honda had followed through with the rest of the driving gear. The mechanic said the upper joints do not routinely fail. With the car maintaining a good amount of its initial speed, it seemed he would get far up the third rise, but the car slowed quickly as it hit this uphill stretch, and no amount of feathering the accelerator would keep the Eco light on. The V-6 uses some impressive engineering, which is best shown in its performance. I didn't replace the locks on the passenger side. The larger cabin means more space between front-seat occupants, filled with a larger center armrest. Our Accord did a fantastic job keeping us on the move. Was a bit expensive to repair.
Rotors warped, pads wore out within 10,000 miles. The especially refined V-6 makes the Accord feel like a luxury car, and it's the choice if you plan to haul around full loads of people and cargo or do much driving in the mountains. One dealership may have incorrectly installed the replacement air bag inflators. Ends of spark plugs eroded away due to oil consumption. Looks like they tried to make the Accord look like a larger, more luxurious vehicle when it should have just remained the much loved Accord. As a matter of fact, competing in the same size range as its competitors such as Nissan Maxima or Sonota, the Honda Accord manages to have more curb side appeal with its ability to appear more compact and sleek without compromising on interior space. Definitely having more chutzpah than its younger brother, the Civic, the Accord's interior has been well thought out.
In my experience, this should be reversed. Brakes makes a strange noise Dealer states brakes are fine. Goggle search shows other 4cyl models having problem. Honda did not make a recall for this issue. We get lots of compliments on its good looks and performance. A base comes in at just a bit more expensive, with more interesting driving characteristics, but optioning it up with tech will push the price much closer to 40 grand. It had a lot of trouble recognizing our commands, probably because of road noise. One of the cylinders is prone to misfire caused by this feature and eventually caused more oil consumption because of damaged rings. The steering is plagued by loads of understeer, forcing you to crank the wheel far around while cornering.
At Honda, 2008 brings the Coupe standard 18-inch wheels, too. H0nda says it is normal. Popular Mechanics commends Honda for including an active noise-canceling exhaust system and active motor mounts that keep the exhaust notes down to a minimum inside the cabin and smooth out any vibration. At a quick glance, the Accord Coupe does look big, but it's more of an illusion caused by the taller, longer nose. This latest Accord has gone through some changes and, this time, some of those changes aren't necessarily so….
