I drive a 5-seater Ford Escape from Milwaukee to Madison and wanted to drive that car off a cliff - the kids wouldn't stop bugging each other. This engine has a timing chain; there is no timing belt. The powertrain is relatively refined and responsive, but could be more powerful. For the price and fuel economy compared to similar cars, I think it is a great value! Also new are restyled 17-inch alloy wheels. It has flexibility with its cargo space.
Love the 5 speed, very easy to drive and since it's geared low it hauls around town pretty quick, even with people on board. Add to it a 5-speed manual transmission, low maintenance costs and good fuel economy, and we've been quite pleased with it. I dodn't want - and couldn't afford - a huge minivan. Stability Control system was added for 2010. There are also, however, some significant drawbacks. The repairs were done at a reputable shop, but there were continuing issues with slippage, which they eventually fixed at no extra charge.
Maintenance was made at the dealers for 5 years and after that a local garage. I can still seat 6, but haven't yet. Others report having the same problem on the Internet. I would take it to an experienced transmission specialist to find out for sure. I love the fact that it has room for 7 people, so I can do carpools for the kids' activities, and then I can put the back seats down and have as much trunk space as I did in the Volvo Cross Country I just got rid of! Any help is greatly appreciated! We were able to fit two people and two kayaks plus equipment inside and still got good handling and decent gas mileage 27-29 mpg at speeds 70-85 mph.
Well, after living with it a bit, I'd say it's for youngsters, oldsters and many inbetweeners. In the side-impact tests, Mazda 5 scored five stars for the driver and four stars for the rear passenger. The Mazda5 does, however, make efficient use of the space it has. The cabin gets a bit loud when going that fast, with both wind and road noise contributing to the din. I would venture to say a stuck open solenoid to be a faulty solenoid.
Grand Touring models also pick up standard alarm systems, a Bluetooth hands-free phone system, automatic headlights, heated sideview mirrors, and rain-sensing wipers. There is no preset schedule, but this is surprisingly early for this fluid to need changed based on driver experience. The second row has two bucket seats that can slide forward and back for additional legroom in either the second or third row. Already having one mini-van in the garage detered me from duplicating that even to the point of looking for the traditional station wagon. All information provided by J. Maybe they need balancing or maybe it is the type of tire. Mechanic repaired, but came loose again. I'll post more as I learn more, but if anyone has any insight - please share. Dealer inspected all heat shields and areas around engine and transmission and found nothing wrong, but admits that buzzing does exist.
