If you had your transmission flushed anywhere other than the dealer I can probably gurantee with certainty that they used Mercon V. Have extend warranty;waited 2 wks for part. I tried to search the web for Mazda's with similar symptoms - and I haven't found much of anything. I dont have any problem replacing the transmission there are several here available but I would think if the failure was that massive it would have had some cool noises associated with it. So that's the basics on my situation. That one seemed to work fine -- but by then we were so disillusioned by Mazda that we traded the car in on a Subaru which runs just fine, thank you very much, at least so far. Lets you know right there how well they are trained.
Are you talking with them directly or through the dealership? There are three different models: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. My Mazda5 '08 with 96,000 miles on it is sitting at the dealer awaiting a transmission diagnosis today. I had it towed to the dealer and they pulled a P0744. In the meantime my car has been sitting awaiting this used, 46k replacement transmission for over a week now - and the part isn't expected until Wednesday or Thursday :- Seriously?! So the fluid is pretty reddish - not dirty or burnt. Not sure what I did wrong, but this product didn't solve my problem.
Please help the world by finding a better dealer and starving the one you went to. We only sell parts from trusted brands like so that you can find quality parts you can count on. That said, it doesn't mean that it would be a cheap fix. The transmission has always been weak and now it just cannot pull the car. I expect that just like with their engines, the dealership doesn't like to crack the case of a transmission to work with the bits inside.

Admittedly, that's a lot of miles, but I've driven many cars well past that point and never had a single transmission fail on me. No wonder people buy so many Toyotas, Lexuses, and Hondas. So my car has been back on the road for a few weeks. The transmission is cooked, you need to replace it.
Mazda Totalcare warranty company claimed not enough evidence to even send tech out for test drive. Based on what I've been following here so far, I'd have to say it's time to face facts.
