The car is safe to drive in 2 until you can get it fixed. With that said, I still bomb water and mud pit with reckless abandon. Meanwhile, the case builds quietly while they continue to spend on labor and auto rental. If you must drive the vehicle when the transmission is in the fail safe mode, accelerate gently and keep the road speed lower than full highway speed. I think the positioning of those buttons is a huge design flaw, but that's for another thread.
Drives ok most of time. This service should be performed every 60,000 miles. And the reason for that is because the pan incorporates the filter. A generic scanner like the ones they use at Auto Zone will not do the trick in this case. Just tell them the problem don't say you had another garage look at it already. May have to fix that. Then every day after that for a few days I get the message the first time I start it in a day.
Before I read that part of your question I was leaning that way. © 2017 General Motors Corporation. The transmission will default to max line pressure. Could be possible you got moisture in 1 of your connectors. Do all above checks already mentioned.
Thanks Changed fuel filter with no effect. Of course this is assuming that each diagnosis is free. Though that appears to be working just fine. It will not hurt the car to drive it like this for short periods, but use manual 2nd to get the car moving, and be aware that the trans will generate more heat than normal while operating in limp-home mode due to increased torque converter slippage during 2nd gear starts and no lockup in 3rd gear. It could be something related to sitting still. We operate over 50,000 square feet of warehouse space at two warehouse locations on both the East and West coast. I also noticed the odometer was not clicking off miles during this leisurley ride!! Most of the time, stopping for a couple of minutes, especially taking the key out of the ignition so that the computer fully shuts down after a couple of minutes, will at least, temporarily solve the problem. Same problem - found by chance it was a flat battery. The height sensors are completely exposed to all water in the wheel wells. The center dial is the terrain response; you simple dial it to whatever tricky terrain condition you may find yourself in and it will adjust things like braking and throttle response. So, that's essentially the kit that you're going to get. Didnt leave anything on and hadnt been playing around with anything to draw much power.
The controller has detected a fault somewhere and is compensating for the problem by altering its shifting program. Like Phil said, first get the codes read. I had to drive about 12 miles at 5-6mph in 1st gear in low range in access mode back through the water I had previously crossed, now at access height! Doesn't feel like a fuel problem as there's no performance loss, sluggishness or missfire. If I quickly start the car without a second or 2 pause to allow all the ecu's to communicate I get the fault pinged up. As far as I know, the battery has never been changed. It does sound strange that this would magically start happening after an electrical issue. At this point theres no option but to pull over, stop, remove the key and restart which clears the issue.
In this mode, the transmission will function in reverse normally, but in forward it will operate in only one gear whether you have the shifter in D, or any of the lower gears. When you shift from D Drive to L Low , the transmission will shift to a pre-determined lower gear range. And the important word here is stock. Also, I didn't mention the spill as it would make your switches stick. Maybe just a random error? Then, on a very busy highway, the gearbox couldn't select a gear, it was jerky underfoot and revving like in neutral.
