All trims are front-wheel drive. Monthly payments are only estimates derived from the vehicle price with a month term, % interest and % downpayment. Gas mileage is around 29-30 average mpg. I repeated my interest in the vehicle and made a reasonable offer to purchase the vehicle pending a test drive. Of course the rear view is finished off with a bright-tip exhaust outlet. The is another highly-ranked car in the class. The interior packaging of the Cobalt is a bit odd compared to rivals and, dare we say, a bit retro.
The automatic Civic and Corolla, for example, have 36 and 35 mpg ratings, respectively. With its easy-shifting automatic transmission, this sedan accelerates enthusiastically enough for its class. I'm confident it will reach 200,000 miles or more as long as I stay on top of regular maintenance. As an overall package, it leaves something to be desired. I have 17,000 miles on mine, and I've yet to have an issue. Its hatchback body style means it has a lot of cargo space, plus roomy seating for five. I love the way it is set up, but the dash material is lousy.
Front brakes are from Brembo and have a performance-oriented fixed-caliper design, which resists fade better than floating calipers. The launch mode and no-lift shift are great additions to the car. However, reviews read by TheCarConnection. Its well-behaved automatic transmission responds nicely. The 155-horsepower four-cylinder engine and five-speed manual transmission combine to move the Cobalt impressively on highway on-ramps and make passing easy. The car is loaded and drives amazing, with a ride that feels like a much larger car. I also like how peppy the engine is; for a little 4 cylinder it moves pretty sprightly.
Hanlding is is solid and feels like it's on rails in the twisties. The Chevrolet Cobalt is a good option for inexpensive, high-value transportation. Dual front airbags and a tire-pressure monitor are included on all 2009 Chevrolet Cobalts as well. Tax, Title and Tags not included in vehicle prices shown and must be paid by the purchaser. The CarGurus View If the gas pump is the major burden in the driving equation, then the Chevrolet 2009 Cobalt carries it extremely well, offering supreme fuel efficiency in a smart looking car-about-town. It carries four people comfortably, five only in a pinch, on a minimal outlay for fuel and monthly payments. This is easily done by calling us at or by visiting us at the dealership.
We found the 148-hp engine used on 2008 models lacking in low-rpm power. It gets amazing gas mileage. Compare the 2009 to the 2008 model. Or worse wrapped into trees and wrecked. With its all-around competence, the Cobalt compares well with the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Ford Focus. Materials are decent and the fit and finish are good.
When gas prices peaked in the summer of 2008, automakers quickly turned out models with improved gas mileage to ease consumers' concerns. On the plus side, road noise is minimal. Drivetrain Most of the changes to the 2009 Cobalt were made to the engine. It's not too big, so I don't feel awkward driving it, and my friends can fit in the back, even if they are a little squished. Front seats are very comfortable and keep you snug during spirited driving. The Cobalt has unimpressive resale value and, according to Consumer Reports, one of the lowest rates of satisfaction of any small car, which is another reason to be wary, but the Cobalt's five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty—backed by Chevrolet dealerships everywhere—is enviable. If you can find one in good condition, I would highly recommend it.
I seriously recommend this car, especially if it's a new driver. Yesterday, I was cleaning the car while it was running and noticed the smell again and I large puddle with ga. There's just enough chrome trim here and there on knobs and instruments to brighten things up without a lot of glare from the shiny parts. Even though the highway ride is uneasy at times, the Cobalt otherwise rides very smoothly for a compact car. In its fixed position, the seat base was so flat I slid forward during braking. I've got the yellow color, and a custom black spoiler, which make the car look even more sporty. I have been averaging about 24-25 mpg with 65%City 35% highway driving.
Rear-seat passengers pay a price for the coupe's sporty looks. Other features that make the sedan inviting are a height-adjustable three-spoke steering wheel and adjustable front head restraints. Visibility is wonderful although the mirror adjustments are limited. I've put over 50k miles on it and haven't experiences any mechanical issues what so ever. Compare the 2009 to the 2008 model. Even better were the optional leather-trimmed seats, which come with electric heat.
