According to the technician, this was easy diagnosis and repair that should be completed free of cost as it should have been repaired by the previous technician who performed the repairs. Threw the timing chain at 80k and complete engine repair covered by warranty. I haven't had any major problems with my vehicles since I started consistently taking care of them myself, about 10 years now. Running rough again and excessive oil used. In many cases this would result in someone else buying the car and not being aware of the timing belt problem until it was too late. I have never heard of a car with only 79,000 miles losing the transmission.

This dealer stated the problem was due to low oil level as well as dirty oil. Noticed ticking noise about 1,000 miles before oil change was due. I got some fuel one morning my check engine light comes on. Its a 2013 equinoxes with barely 65000 miles on it are u kidding me. The Equinox currently has 47,519 miles, we are in the process of trying to find a Chevy Dealer in Vicenza.
The oil consumption started along with the problems. And why did it, well if you read, it can't handle below zero weather. Have 2 children and have been screwed over by General Motors and there dealer. I did not think I could do anything about the timing chain problem, except prolong it with good oil change maintenance. Just threw the timing chain again at 150k.
I have had the pump changed and still a leak. I still have oil consumption problem, because the rings are so worn from this faulty fuel pump crap!? Problem seemed to be resolved. Go in buy more oil to get me home. Also has intermittent loud knocks when starting. We took it to Hendricks and they replaced several items at no cost.
And guess what, it's not covered by the supposed 3yr 50,000 mile warranty on that 'new' engine. My timing guides broke at only 79,000 miles! Said there was nothing they good do, right out of warranty. Multiple complaints but Chevy won't admit poor engine design. Replaced high pressure fuel pump replaced high pressur fuel pump 101613 km Timing chain noisy. . Same or similar issue but with a different company? Having same issues first had to pay 1700 because they said it was a timing problem did that and it's still happening and lots of other problems with my 2012 that we bought an extended warranty on and they wont cover problems.
