The problem is the modulating noise. Replaced under Nissan extended warranty. Mechanic had it tightened and fixed in so minutes, including test drive. If I could give cars back I would in a heartbeat. Replaced all components incl dust boots.
Had to cut out old one. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Ruined knuckle when trying to get the bolt out, had to replace. Shop replaced with a rebuilt rack-pinion. Diagnosed as worn sway bar endlink.
Parts were about 75 each. The noise would go up in frequency as vehicle speed increased. While driving over 30 mph, the vehicle became very unstable and swayed to the right and left. The vehicle was not repaired. Took it in and was covered for free under extended warranty. Small leak in one, excessive rear tire wear. The failure mileage was 29,509.
This car as very poorly made and Nissan will not own up to their mistakes. Had to order parts and bring back at a later date. Dealer denied responsibility saying the subframe was supported by special equipment, rather than by the struts alone. Tie rod end was replaced. Bolt was seized on back shocks and the whole shock had to be cut. We have two of the same year Altima purchased on the same date. Oil changed and full warranty inspection.
Control arm bushings were worn out, preventing a 'proper alignment' according to a local shop. Front sway bar bushings and sway bar endliks. This caused bad wearing on the aluminum control arm, requiring replacement. Dealer says struts, engine torque mount, lower ctrl arms all bad, need replace. My broker bought the car from me and paid for the repairs. Tires were aligned and balanced.
Replaced hose and fluid 22068 km 13,000 Miles. Parts were purchased online and installed at local shop. The car had developed a klunk going over speed bumps. New belt was installed also. The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Altima. The newest part also turned out to be defective.
Still needed to replace all belts and hoses. Replaced both side inner and outer. Only has 74,000kms on it. Lof 148687 km Couldn't perform alignment due to frozen tie-rod ends. Went in to get oil changed and was told I had an oil leak that was going back into my engine and blew one of my cylinders and tore an O-ring so had to have that replaced. Front end also exhibited symptoms similar to worn struts. Replaced front struts and rear shocks due to poor handling.
These things are bound to happen. However, new part was defective and needed to be replaced again. Only front bearings were replaced. Also something wrong with rear defroster that required back windshield to be replaced. When I reached the speed of 60mph, it began to shake and jerk.
The front struts, bushings and stabilizer bars had to be replaced with new parts. New springs brought back car to specified height. Replaced both front wheel bearings 34745 km Vibration since new but got much worse. Replace both front struts with QuickStruts by Monroe. Diagnosed as passenger front wheel bearing and replaced same day. Once the part was received, the car was fixed that day. Turns out the pothole had just loosened a bolt.
