I was asked if there was anything wrong and I responded, no but just in case there is I want to know who I should contact. The dealer told me it was a bad battery and they replaced it. Then a few months later while driving I could feel the car getting stuck in gear and then when it would finally shift the whole car would jerk. The gauge showed 1 line over half towards the hot side. It puts the driver at a very high risk of an accident. The vehicle never felt different when these lights came on.
The dealer called today and stated that the motor was getting too much oil and they were replacing the pistons because of it. To limit wheel spin, especially in slippery road conditions, the system should always be left on. I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500. This car has been nothing but a nightmare and seem to think based on reviews that these cars fall into the lemon category. Was sitting at stop light when suddenly Surged forward even with brake applied And nearly hit vehicle in front of me.
What can we do to get it fixed for good???????? I got it new at rick Hendricks. About a week ago it started shaking and acted like it was stalling at about 40-50 mph. They blamed the exhaust issue on the stabilitrak issue. Very dangerous since no one can tell when I am slowing down. I have 25,000 miles on a 2011 Terrain.
Which was not a fun moment as i almost got nailed 3 times getting to the side of the road. I have 64000 miles on this vehicle and feel like factory warranty should cover it. I own a 2013 chevy Cruze, with the exact engine 1. I think it is a cold weather problem. This just cannot continue to happen. Not covered under warrenty i had to buy a new one. Thanks to John and Dave my problem is fixed for now.
Another issue monitored closely by the traction control system is wheel speed. Nothing else happened and I made it home but I am furious…So this time I am bringing it to my dealer in the morning…. The usually common before I reach 20 mph, and is random. Hoping for a better outcome than most of the posts here. At this point I want nothing to do with either car but would rather just have Terrain back since I have already paid so much into it. At about 49K, the left light went out, but I was sure I was informed the warranty ran thru 75K, so took it in when it just rolled over 50K.
I refilled it and the fan went back to running as it normally would. So far it seems to be working. It ran wonderfully now 2 years later and now 48,000 miles I get a message to service the stabilitrak system. My stabilitrack light has been coming on randomly while idling at a light or while driving at traffic speeds 5-10mph. How is this system considered a safety feature when it could have gotten me killed? Not cold out as in some of the other posts so not sure what happened. This light came on at 500 miles and went out. StabaliTrak would show up on the screen in my car.
And believe it or not my power locks went crazy locking and unlocking the doors several times by themselves. That happened a few times but both Onstar monthly diagnostic and Chevy Check Up did not find anything wrong, report came out that my car was in good condition. My question is, am I just screwed here? This is the second issue I have had with it as they already replaced a throttle sensor around 10,000 miles. I called them yesterday as i had never recieved a follow up from last Wed. We will be taking it to a very reliable mechanic this week and will wait to see what they find. Said it could be loose wire but tgere check was fine, said they could put a brake positiining sensor on it if I wanted, but if it comes on again they would have to tear into dash. When the Service traction Control and service Stablilatrack flashes back and forth, combined when engine light flashing which usually means the vehicle is misfiring.
Pulling over and restarting the car usually corrects the problem but it is terrifying when traveling at a higher rate of speed, or any speed really! Onstar told me it was some kind of communication failure and transmission problem. If changing throttle body sensor will alleviate my problem, please pipe in and drop me a line. This should not have happened. I was told by the head of the service dept. I have had it even kick in 3 times while the cruise was set at 75 and i was in the passing lane.
