Now they are repolacing the transmission. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was advised that there was nothing wrong with the headlights. The light output from the projectors has been reduced to a thin beam of light right below the cutoff, with the driver's side being worse than the passenger. I'm sure the service rep thinks I'm just imagining it because of all the problems I've had, but as soon as I get in the loaner vehicle which is the exact same model, year, and similar mileage as my car, it drives like a dream. After two days they report it is a pressure leak in the transmission when the engine cools. Cars that are over 20 years old have brighter headlights.
The recall began Aug 2016. The service manager stated that the xenon headlight failed and took at the steering system panel and had to be all rewired. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle at night with the headlights turned on, the headlights would not illuminate bright enough to see past the front of the vehicle. He said they had never seen this happen before. As soon as the car started driving forward, as if by magic, it runs fine all day until the next morning. And it only happened if the care is parked overnight.
I cant get into the car. Another issue I have been experiencing is a false indication that my taillights are out. Typical failed parts include the coolant expansion tank, radiator end tanks, and water pump impellers or bearings. The contact stated that the headlights became abnormally dim, making it very difficult for the contact to see the road and other vehicles.
The problem is caused from worn door seals. One of them would start only intermittently, especially in cold weather. The work order stated the problem was due to internal leakage in the transmission. All of these things can easily be taken care of at home, or by a good independent mechanic. I was just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the technician informed that the headlight wiring melted due to excessive corrosion. This is really a safety issue -- once I pulled into the stree when a car was coming and I had to just sit there and rev the engine with no movement. So if you went from reverse to drive and then give it gas, it will feel like it is slipping and then engages causing the car to jerk. Also, start by changing the bulbs. The part was defective, but out of warranty.

I have the same problem. It happens whether i let it warm up or not. I live in Toronto, Canada. I believe 4 fuse under hood is for passenger side low beam.
Sharing personal information, or specifics on is not allowed. Definitely have this region inspected if looking at a 330i. The headlight wiring was replaced. Surprise, it didn't fix the problem. In addition, the contact noticed a strong abnormal odor from the rear of the vehicle. The flasher warning light is still on and the front and side directions are flashing rapidly. So if you went from reverse to drive and then give it gas, it will feel like it is slipping and then engages causing the car to jerk.
If that isn't available, provide all you know and explain why. The problem happens after a couple weeks or so. While inspecting the vehicle, the contact found that the front driver's headlight cable was on fire. . But definitely check the main ground, fuse Block ground, and headlights ground.
