I dont think that the 95 would have the same set up when 96-7 wouldnt also. But as soon as I place the transmission fuse in, the voltage from the ignition switch drops to either 1. Thanks for any help you can provide. From what i've been seeing, in my 98' Tahoe, the starter is mounted on the bellhousing of the transmission. As far as I know, you have to have a transmission that is 98 or newer. The harness letters didn't match up to the colors. I can provide more information as necessary. The vehicle would need other modifications though, such as cross members and drive shafts etc.
Check the connection and wires at the vehicle speed sensor on the drivers side of the tailshaft housing. It's really easy to test which gear the transmission is in as I live in the mountains in Montana. The codes the computer gave me were all solenoid related. Oct 28, 2011 Sounds like you have an electrical problem. Sorry it took me a while to reply, busy with work. Chances are you're low on motor oil. Be sure all the ones that should be hot are. The bolt pattern is the same however the gear ratios are different as well as the internal components are lighter in a V6 application,. When the ignition is in the on position Battery + voltage is sent to the Trans fuse. I've seen some sloppy transmission shops damage things or leave stuff loose so just go over everything.
Are they both pointed upward. . Nothing about the drivetrain changes. He suggested that doing an ohm test on the solenoids first. Making me think that the part the the harness plugs into has failed.
