Where is the motor located? Also seen the cowl drain clog up on 202's and allow water to collect in the plenum, then freeze at night and make the fan not run, which can lead to a failure of the regulator, so keep it shut off until it can be chaecked out. Pull connector off blue sensor at thermo housing and see if fan comes on to High speed. Is it easily accessable for testing? Hello Everyone This forum has been a great help in the past and huge money saver. Test each circuit by touching the positive lead to the circuit. Bugs cut down airflow, corrosion and grit inside might have cut down H2O flow through a few of the tubes, at least enough to make a difference. ? You can look for evidence at the back of the engine on the exhaust side. It's a relatively easy diagnosis, involving coolant testing, oil testing and coolant pressure leakdown testing.
I can hear a clicking on from where the blower motor is. Gilly It's a little more complex than some resistors, it's a blower control module. These sensors even sense when the window is down or the door is open and increase the fan speed as necessary to maintain a constant temperature within the car. Is it easy to get to that motor blowing Has anyone else had this problem Thanks for the help Jason Gentlemen and ladies. Ive found a C43 locally coincidentally.
I suppose the next step is to test to see if the motor is getting power. At this point I know they don't want to ever see the car again. I chose this car because I had a 97 E420 and the car it was the most reliable car I ever owned plus I loved it for the same reasons you all do. This is where there is low or no water flowing from plugged tubes. Is it the resistor Any help is appreciated Cheers. Is this a common problem? You cannot even stick a round toothpick through these tubes when they are clean.
Any idea what might be the problem? Dumb questions but I am a female and I just bought this car a year ago and drive it maybe 4 times a week for 10 miles. I have a 2000 c280, The problem just started last night, When the air blower just won't shut off even when the control is off position, I waited a few minutes if it will shut off, after 5minutes I removed the blower fuse to shut it. There was some corrosion, but with the exception of the area that leaked, again it looked pretty good. I need to get to the bottom of this cold problem! As they plug up the flow is reduced and you effectively have a smaller radiator. They are very very narrow. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the fan as well as the thermostat. Gilly Hello again Mercedes experts! If it does come on , then check resistance of aux fan sensor.
Just to the left of the blower motor, an electrical connector connected to a flat 1-inch-by-2-inch plate can be seen. Just think what it is going to cost you to take it in for repair??? I would take care of that immediately with new oil change. Its a 1999 C43 silver on black. Thank you sir Im still enormously pleased with it and no problems yet--except for some of the exact same minor annoyances I had with my 1994 c280 from 99 until Hi Team I would like to purchase a universal O2 sensor made by bosch for my 1994 c280. There is vacuum line in the engine compartment, color is white gray next to the oil filter housing.
Also are the non universal ones any better - I assume so as there is a 170% difference in price. Just disconnect the connector and remove the two screws to replace the resister. Before that, everything tested fine pressure-wise, nobody did the oil and coolant tests , but the temperature ran up and down. It is only on the passenger side. . Now its been my dream car since I was 16.
C43 is a beautiful fast car. It's quite possible with a minor leak. The temperature changes fine and I can hear changes when different fan speeds are selected. Also, the rear headrests will not go down when I press the button. An almost 100% guarenteed solution is to replace the radiator and the fan clutch.

I tried to put the fuse back on but the blower just started running again. I am going in for an Oil Change today at Grease Monkey and they do these. Having an issue with my 1995 C280 overheating. How will I know when I need my breaks checked? It turned out that the radiator core tubes were plugging up. The resister emits substantial heat from the resistance it supplies and eventually burns up.
I told him I bought the car simply to drive back and forth from Arizona to Las Vegas and it needed to be very reliable. I drove the car around for 2 days no problems then Thursday morning drove to vegas ran perfect till I came back this morning and got stuck in traffic on the hover dam check point. I am freezing Usually the blower motor regulator, need to test it, like Manny said, need to check the basics first. Is it usually the control panel, a relay, the motor itself, or. I have a 86 300e that had all of these symptoms.
