Are all M-track Quads defective? Here you want to uninstall anything that is relating to the M-track still. Same buffer size does nothing, I've tried. Audio is fine for all other applications, it's only Live that has this issue. Im on 10 aswell I've been fighting something similar ever since the upgrade to 10. I often load up a song file to play guitar through Reason with my Helix and its not unusual to get cracks, so much that its very annoying. Even when Ableton is not open. You can always increase it if you are that set on a higher rate.
The distortion, crackles, pops etc. I disabled port setting on windows! A mixture of musicians, if you can say so, and programmers, and the output is a super-duper product, which is really created to facilitate the process associated with the creation of a new work, plus all the highest requirements were taken into account and implemented. I doubt the processor on the unit can handle it. Next, in order to prevent the vinyl sample from changing pitch as I play different notes, I set the scale control on Sampler to 0%. I'm always turning the monitor mix all the way to the left when recording, have already been doing that. It starts to loose the ability to serve the audio system in a timely manner way before 35% cpu usage. I have a year old iMac: Processor 2. I see there are other reports of Live 10 crackling for other users.
Recently purchased an M-track Quad. Could it be the internal sound card? I also can't think of a technical explanation for this, and the Focusrite web site wasn't any help. I don't know what this can be, but it's really shameful that they don't update their drivers, or at least reply clients. Is this what a nerdy producer looks for? I tried a new interface something or other and got the same crackling noise, so I ruled that out. Arm it, crackle, record something, crackle. Seems to be happening with either Windows 10 October update or Reason 9. If not, I think I'll start a new thread.
. It can take a while to find the parameter you are looking for. What a great community I must say! Increasing the buffer size doesn't seem to have had much effect, unfortunately. I didn't have any crackling for a day, and now I'm getting it again. I'm also having issues with audio drivers.
Definitley seems to be a driver issue, but not sure exactly how to go about fixing it. I know mate, I started a new query saying that I was having all the issues everyone else was having and said it doesn't seem to have the crackling with the generic windows driver. I then downloaded the free app and have experienced no popping since. Seems like no big deal unless you spend 10 min just flipping through a handful of sounds. About 80% of the time when I open or close Sony Sound Forge I get a crackle noise.
Particularly when it involves controlling exterior synthesizers via , the Live Collection offers a lot more options than other programs. I'm monitoring through headphones with the Focusrite Scarlett Solo - I have had issues with the Solo creating crackle in the past, but this isn't the case right now. As for it being vital to have as low a latency as possible, while 51ms is huge, I challenge anyone to really notice once latency drops below the mid-20s. There are macros that allow you to cycle through the different samples and adjust the volume. I was using Ableton as an example of something I have sounding fine, just so you know my soundcard apparently isn't a failure. The audio driver issues is a telling sign.
That'd be the most likely culprit. As is sometimes the solution when the Scarlett gives me grief, I hard-reset it a few times, which fixed the problem for all of about 20 seconds before the crackle returned. So, naturally I thought Oliver's suggestion was a good one. An Ableton Live Instrument Rack that turns any synth you have into a synth that sounds like it came from tape or record! We just recently got it and when I tried recording tonight for the first time, I noticed the static and popping noises. I don't want to do that because it seems like more work but it may be necessary if the crackling is coming from my card. So, its not just an Ableton problem. And under Performance Options, Advanced tab, adjust for best performance of 'Background Services'.
