Everything is up to date. So we're now holding on Acrobat X until Adobe gets their act together and fixes these various issues. It freezes, won't open documents, cannot read our network drives and respectively the pdf files on them; freezes when I try to sign pdf files. That or possibly there's been an update that fixed this. If Advanced System Care has created backups of whatever it fixed, I would suggest restoring from those backups, before you dump the program.
Adobe itself says to not have both Reader and Acrobat on the same computer. Any ideas, how to add the adobe apps in the 'Set Default Programs'? Software I installed version 7 without a hitch. If so, then you can check the below instructions to fix the issues. Thanx anyway for your help. I wonder if Adobe made some assumptions about network security that aren't true for everyone. Such 'SpeedUpMyPc' utilities are not recommended as they can cause unintended consequences, which you are now experiencing.
Someone posted a tip one time about moving a program window where you want it, maximize it, restore it, then maximize it again, and close it, and it should remember the location. Any simple updates over the last year to fix this Adobe created problem? Best regards Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help, and unmark the answers if they provide no help. It allows trials in there but that's for Adobe Cloud. Just a busy icon displays for a couple of seconds. All in all, I do not use it. This includes network servers and shared drives.
In normal conditions, I should have Save as dialog box and after that I will get my document in pdf. Has anyone seen this issue before? This cleaned the system out of all Acrobat-related items. That kind of cloud integration has been extended with the new version. Do you remember the user agreement coming on after a successful re-installation? It allows trials in there but that's for Adobe Cloud. Every fix I try will fix the problem but it always comes back.
This fix will also work for other versions of Adobe reader or similar senerio as this: adobe acrobat 8 standard closes automatically, acrobat 8 closes after a few seconds, adobe reader closes by itself, adobe acrobat 8 pro closes automatically, adobe acrobat 8 closes within few seconds, adobe acrobat 8 professional closing automatically, adobe acrobat 9 pro extended closes automatically, adobe reader doesn't open, adobe reader keeps shutting down, adobe reader won't open, adobe acrobat reader dc could not open. That is why I'm asking how to register the adobe apps in Windows 10, as I read somewhere that upon installation, adobe in general does not register its application to Windows. That kind of cloud integration has been extended with the new version. We just rolled out Reader 10. There is nothing in Event Viewer for either Reader or Acrobat either.

Similar help and support threads Thread Forum I did some file maint. A little bit later, I found my answer.
The problem you have of Acrobat not opening is one of the symptoms. All in all, I do not use it. I have updated the software to the latest version so at least now sub-menu items show on the right side so you can just a little bit better find what you are looking for, but the functionality has not improved. My other big concern is the functionality as a plugin which also didn't work properly. Besides if you have Acrobat why would you even bother with Reader.
