Thanks, but I'm pretty sure from reading your thread that you had a different problem. Watch the multimeter as you go through each module if the reading changes bingo fault found. Please let me know what you find out. I have tried replacing the sensor unit with a refurbished one 10 year guarantee? Many thanks for your help. I'd definitely like it just for future reference. Finally I took my A8 to a shop to be looked at. Some things don't ring true.
Do a search if you want the code. If you buy the new unit you will need to recode it and then readapt it to the car. And they will charge about a third of the Audi labour rate! Here is the error code. We are always looking for top class Companies to join and support this website, so to get more details of our excellent value advertising packages please for full details. Has anybody got any other ideas or if you think the same as me, how the hell do you get the master cylinder to replace the sensor. It can also vary the amount of braking force going to each wheel, so if one or more wheels has more traction than the others, this can be used to maximum effect. Its £700 + labour from audi.
They will not do what Audi do - if you get the right one with the right experience they will probably know straight away what the problem is. Hi Just looking for some advice. They then had to be reprogrammed at a cost of £95 plus vat. I have the same problem as you. Bus is not smoke and mirrors.
Light still on so firm sent another one, still no joy. To learn more, see our. Not sure I understand you when you say it was the brake light switch. What is the car doing after 10 mins to cause it?? I've got the battery charging before i go and buy a new one but i'm hoping it will take a charge as the car hasn't really been getting used properly as i only do a couple of miles a day. .
The brake warning light seems to come on 50% of the time on start up. I checked the battery with a multi-meter and its sitting at 11. There are loads of threads on the internet about spongy brakes on these cars once the system is disturbed. The lights still come on. When finished the part was delivered to our door with the courier.
Any help that could avoid a dealer visit would be fantastic. This warning light will flash if the car is at the edge of grip and the system activates, which is particularly likely if you drive on a slippery surface. No way of knowing if they were in working order. I have heard of the abs unit failing quite often. Had a drive by scope out of a vw specialist near me - looked like some dirty back street garage - didn't exactly inspire confidence tbh.
Any advice or experiences appreciated, Cheers guys sounds like battery to me mate. Didn't go off after turning ignition off an on again as suggested. It is quite likely to be what this guy had and as you can see from Ross Tech there are quite a few causes which is why audi want so much. The battery is showing 82% which is apparently fine, and the alternator is fine too Called my local Audi to see if they could confirm this bulletin that was apparently sent out claiming this was perfectly normal. Have had it in audi and they 'said' they were unable to diagnose from this fault code alone.
I had the same error come up last Sunday after getting my tyres balanced and aligned on Saturday. Battery was deemed ok by audi assistance. My electric mirrors don't fold out on their own - never have done. Unfortunately the scrambled signal was still present. Or this company will either replace the sensor if you send the pump in for £250 or will fix it on the car for £350. Perhaps eleki can confirm that.
Read our guide to find out. A bearing had gone as well so a £250 ish bill rather than a grand plus for a new pump. Occasionally I'm getting a brake warning light from the info. I've decided to wait and see if the problem gets worse, the garage don't think it is anything too serious. Then read to the clever technology that helps keep you on the straight and narrow. Through a quick search online you will find a long list of reviews from happy customers that have had one of our parts fitted.
I'm getting brake system failure warning light as well. Managed to remove connector from front sensor, pulled it off and on a few times to improve connection, ran a scan the fault code was still there. Same issue here as well too. It's worth getting sorted though as a guide my local Audi independant charged me £90 to reprogramme. I'm tempted to think it's a failing battery - it would explain why it does it when the car has been left standing maybe the battery is draining over night and running low!? It would be useful if you could get a copy of this bulletin! My advice now is to anyone who has this problem let someone like Volksmaster fix it for the cost even if its a long drive to get it done. Seems to me to be linked to changing battery but could be broken I suppose.
