I like the route you went with doing everything except the exhaust; to me, the stock exhaust sounds decent but I have never been one to be in love with a loud exhaust. The twin-turbo 535i, formerly the 530i, is the quickest six-cylinder 5 Series car ever. Loaded with all the luxury you could ask for powered by the mighty v8 engine! I'm not certain at this point if I will ever mod mine because I'm not sure how long I will be keeping it but if I decide to pull the trigger, I'll be going with Dinan for sure. I like that it is a nice, refined sound. The 300-hp six-cylinder in the 535i matches some V8s, while the V8-powered 550i delivers true high performance by any definition. Increased power and other improvements for 2008 only emphasize this. Two big ticket options have been added for 2008.
The rock-hard seats, the Camry-ish yet blase appearance, and the raft of niggling problems did nothing to diminish my overall enthusiasm. If that doesn't do the trick nothing will. Further, the ride over smooth surfaces is splendid, the car seemingly gliding along in complete serenity. Following a learning curve of maybe 30 minutes, the iDrive system is fantastic. Also, they do provide a bit less filtering. I jumped right into it and got the following: 1.
I like the route you went with doing everything except the exhaust; to me, the stock exhaust sounds decent but I have never been one to be in love with a loud exhaust. The 5 Series engines were updated for 2008. For me those things plus their warranty are worth the extra bucks. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. Of course, it's not quick from that speed in sixth, but it doesn't complain.
Paul, Minnesota on Wed Oct 10 2007 Either the styling has grown on me or the '08 tweaks have matured this car out of its awkward adolescence. I was either thinking about doing what you did first or going with some supersprint headers. The critics contend that, with the kabuki-eyebrow look in front and the chunked-off shape of the trunk lid, the 5 Series seems almost like two halves taken from different cars. Better dial up the dentist. I'm not certain at this point if I will ever mod mine because I'm not sure how long I will be keeping it but if I decide to pull the trigger, I'll be going with Dinan for sure. I've spent a ton of time on the phone with Dinan while I built my Dinan5 and the guy I forget his name responsible for my area indicated that he throws in a filter every 25k miles. And the 19-inch wheels look absolutely fabulous, although that may be one of the only reasons to opt for the 550i over a 535i.
All the techno gadgets you could ask for. Dinan utilizes the second inlet by running a second set of pipes across the bay there's not much room in there with a nice carbon fiber show-piece tube right up front that then goes below again and hooks up to the second, previously unused inlet. The 5 Series Sports Wagon is offered only with the more powerful six-cylinder and all-wheel drive. I waited 40 minutes than left. I was thinking this along with an X-pipe in place of the silencers and just using the rest of the stock exhaust.
No issues in my first four months, surprisingly good fuel economy for a growling V8. I'm doing the first two, first then doing the tune later. All I can say is is feels completely factory. I know they do for the M5 v10. There is, of course, the Monroney question. With the Dinan box, yes and no is an aftermarket filer a requirement.
So happy in fact, I now look forward to surfing cars. In our view, the lines create a fairly compact appearance, and that may be part of the problem. When using the keyless system, our 550i was graciously mute. I can't say enough about them! I used to want to short shift a little bit out of 1st and 2nd bc the torque was dropping off a bit but now the engine is refreshed and pulls all the way up! One thing in they are pricey as hell and I don't even know is supersprint stocks them for the N62B48? The tranny in the car I have read about in many online sources is estimated to handle upwards of 500hp and we're nowhere near that. At the same time it's no so physically bulky as large sedans, and easier to maneuver in tight spaces or park.
Rear seat and trunk space have both been improved, keeping the 5-series on par with it's competitors. And the mirror adjustor sits just beyond the window switches, rather than further up the panel as before. I was thinking this along with an X-pipe in place of the silencers and just using the rest of the stock exhaust. For 2008, it was time for an update, and as these midcycle makeovers go, this one is moderately extensive. The thing that e60 550i's are often criticized slightly for is that unless you unlock the beast with a heavy right foot, at which point there's certainly a beast to be unlocked don't get me wrong, that they can sometimes feel a bit sluggish or laggard. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast.
This mid-size luxury sedan remains a true sports sedan in any of its variations, including the 535xi wagon and other models equipped with all-wheel drive. The six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission has been improved as well, and buyers can choose manual or automatic for the same price in all models. I'm seriously considering making the same mods you have done, but with an exhaust to match. The 5 mixes comfort, performance, high-tech features and passenger-friendly accommodations in fairly compact package. On the 5 Series at least, the curvy front-end, flat sides and high rear deck stand out less than they once did.
Those character lines crossing the rear end, or the double creases framing the hood, seem a bit overdone. Hey man I have a 2008 550i sport. It was expensive, too, and though the M5 came with a massive screaming V10, the rest of the run seemed to be pretty tame. This car has peaked my interest in an M5 which is likely to be my next car. The 5 has the appearance of a well-built mainstream sedan, and that may not be the precedent one expects for an expensive European job.
