D: The channels the sliders ride in also become caked with dried-out grease. Then push down on window glass to engage clips. They should fix these problems free forever! Thanks May 31, 2015 Followup from the Pelican Staff: Can you lift the window manually to the top position? I removed the door panel but I don't see anything weird. If you dont have one there its on the inside of the door lock mechanism. The window regulator broke and I replaced it. I would remove the door panel and check the glass and door seal fit.
A guy talking on his cell phone bumped me and had to have my passenger door replaced. I had that same exact problem with my 128i with a roof and my smarter half had the same thing happen in his Mini. A casual search of the forums did not reveal the solution, so I called the dealer's service department. The window will not roll up straight and in the channel. Thanks - Colin May 5, 2015 Followup from the Pelican Staff: The vapor barrier may be torn. June 11, 2014 Followup from the Pelican Staff: Sounds like the door is either not staying shut or the door switch is going between open and closed when the door is shut.
Never had a problem with the window going back up when it does roll down. Resetting the anti-trap allows me to move the window up but if i drop the window down all the way, same problem. My husband is not convinced it is the regulator. Believe me, I feel your pain. March 14, 2015 Followup from the Pelican Staff: Could be a plastic bushing. You will be able to slide the main glass but that will be it. Before you reinstall the regulator, I recommend you inspect and replace the front window channel guide too, if it's worn.
So is my regulator or motor bad? I was however informed that it will happen again, due to the tint. The reality of it is if you can replace everything do it! I just have the some problem on my 2005 330i and is easy to reset. August 6, 2015 Followup from the Pelican Staff: No. Ok, so I tried again a few times and nothing. Close door and turn ignition key on.
August 8, 2016 Followup from the Pelican Staff: Going by memory, yes it does. You can bench test the motor to be sure it is Ok once you remove it. This is a very common fault - the chime tells you that 'Side window anti-trap' is disabled and reminds you of it every time you start the car. If so, the regulator is faulty. Aug 27, 2012 I am assuming that the switch from the drivers side will roll the window down and up for all windows, so this is going to be a worn out or defective window switch in the passenger door.
The entire regulator is available as an assembly without the motor. The drivers windows only goes up or down about an inch at a time. Having a broken window regulator can surely put a damper on that. This will correct the problem. You can check if it can be slightly adjust to improve the glass position. This is the channel that guides the front of the window as it is raised and lowered by the regulator.
If any still stuck on the panel, pry them off and clip them back on the door before installing the panel. First remove door panel and confirm the window can move smoothly in the window guides, if so the regulator is faulty. I took the door panel off and lubricated the tracks and the window began working again. I've lubricated without dismantling the mechanism but that didn't work. Could this be the window motor causing the repeat failures or am I missing something? I will send my email address as a personal message, then we can attempt this repair again, I have a reputation of not giving up. This assembly has a built-in motion sensor that prevents the window from rolling up if it encounters resistance say, if someone's arm is stuck in the window. On older 3 Series models you could leave the glass in the door.
Give our parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799. I would remove the door panel and check for the up and down signal to the window motor. Took the door panel off today, and could hear a clicking sound when trying to lower the window. . Problem: Windows started to go up and down intermittently, then stopped all together.
