What are the odds that someone with no formal training could land the role in a prestigious Broadway ballet in New York City? Chloe Lukasiak plays Gwen, a talented dance prodigy who competes at the camp. A group of 12 teenagers from various backgrounds enroll at the American Ballet Academy in New York to make it as ballet dancers and each one deals with the problems and stress of training and getting ahead in the world of dance. The main couple often dances together in sensual or suggestive ways. It's time to put this horse out of its misery. It's also often set against the backdrop of a nightclub, though it shows no underage or even indulgent drinking.

The actors were horrid, the script was cringe worthy and the story line was beyond ridiculous. It offers a wealth of positive messages about hard work and ambition and personal responsibility, and shows young adults behaving responsibly in spite of the temptations of night life, but its mature themes and romanticizing of city life make it best for older kids. Adults are a mixed bag in terms of role models, but realistic -- some are self-serving and arrogant, others are open-minded and compassionate. The acting ability was flawed in a couple of instances but we are talking about people who more than likely have dancing as their first love and profession and acting as an add on so please! They also kiss frequently, and in two scenes there is implied intercourse -- one, when they are dancing together, then shown following one another into the bedroom.
