Flick the steering wheel, and the nose points exactly where you want it to. Suffice to say that the base Pacifica comes fairly well-equipped with power front seats, windows and door locks; remote keyless entry; and a full array of safety equipment. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture. Unfortunately, there are still some compelling reasons to avoid it — namely that its gas mileage, ownership costs and interior quality are not up to the standards set by competitors like the Saturn Outlook, Honda Pilot and Ford Freestyle.
I could rotate the wheel with the palm of one hand, and it consistently unwound itself back to center with a natural, well-weighted feel. The once mundane two-box compact hauler has been tweaked into all manner of exterior form, the powertrains refined for greater pep and efficiency, sophisticated technologies introduced into even the least-expensive models, and lists of options enriched to near luxury-car levels. Steering feedback is solid, though some drivers might find body motions to be excessive when it's driven over bumps. If practicality isn't your priority, though, the Magnum may be an attractive choice. The pedal in my test car felt a bit mushy, but it produced adequate stopping power. Today, the car's aging cabin has become its fatal flaw. There are crossovers out there that deliver on all these counts, but the Pacifica isn't among them.
Safety The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not yet crash tested the Magnum. The larger engine emits a satisfying growl and delivers palpably quicker acceleration. The list of standard safety features is slim as well. The Pacifica fills a need for those seeking a family hauler that's outside the box, and we're impressed. The transmission in my test car sometimes left me in the wrong gear, but it's much preferred over the four-speed automatic that's paired with the 3. Optional power-adjustable pedals help shorter drivers position themselves a proper distance from the steering wheel and its airbag.
Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Love, love love this vehicle, and so wish they made the new Pacifica with similar body style, comparatively speaking. The recall for Mitsubishi started on June 24, 2015. My test vehicle had leather seats and suede inserts, which were about minivan-quality — durable but not very luxurious. Interior materials have good fit and finish, but they don't stand out in this class. We generally keep 40-50 vehicles in stock and if we dont have what your looking for we are glad to find it.
The 300 Touring's V6 is strong, but not as refined as some competing engines. All trims are available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. A backup camera is also available. Highway passing is all too easy, with enough power in fourth gear to make quick 60-to-70 mph bursts. Wrapping up the changes to the 2007 Pacifica is updated front-end styling.
Show full review Those who buy cars for sheer practicality should avoid the Dodge Magnum. Touring and Limited models are equipped with second-row bucket seats and accommodate six passengers thanks to a split-folding third-row seat. Large bumps can leave lingering bounciness. Here's how the stack up: Magnum Engines 2. Their gritty textures are reminiscent of late-'90s Chryslers, and even the analog clock looks cheap and plasticky.
A surprisingly accommodating entry height makes getting in and out of the Pacifica a breeze. Perhaps the biggest draw is its distinctiveness — it's been around for three years, and among comparably priced wagons, there's nothing quite like it. Fold both rows of seats, and maximum cargo volume measures 79. The rear-seat entertainment system also gets a larger 8-inch video screen. I'm 5 feet 11 inches, and I drove with the seat all the way back.
If practicality isn't your priority, though, the Magnum may be an attractive choice. When used, small items can be stored below this floor panel. Wheels on most Dodge Magnums come in 17- or 18-inch diameters. The design means there's less chance of the hatch striking a wall or another car behind it when it opens, but it also limits luggage capacity. It also damps out major undulations to prevent excess shaking and rattling. In a market crowded with conformity, it's a welcome nonconformist.
