If worse comes to worse I would unplug the controller, go and remove the drivers for the controller, restart the computer, install the drivers from pioneer, restart, try serato. I figured I got a lemon. Try updating drivers and software as much as you can, is really my only advice. Read other blogs stating that Serato has issues w 2017 MacBook Pros w touchbar.
Not sure why I would have to do that with serato and not do anything with pcdj? No sound from the cue or from speakers. Do you get audio through your headphones? I had a similar issue once and I had to restart my computer for it to pickup my hardware. For both of them it says the same error. Now if that doesn't work I am sorry if it gets to this point do the same steps but insead of install from pioneer, after the restart start serato and plug in the controller to see if serato will detect it and install the drivers for you. You should still be able to get sound, Check the headphone mix- if it's on cue you'll need to make sure you've turned on cue for each channel you want to here orange buttons, also in the middle and ensure the obvious thing of having the headphone volume turned up. Plug the controller back in and Serato — you guessed it — started sending sound back out to the controller. I faced a problem where my controller was not sending any output over the speakers. I downloaded the serato dj intro latest version and also installed the pioneer ddj-sb2 latest drivers from their website. To find out how to do that, watch the video. I messed around with it for about 2 hours until I raged and I pulled the usb from the back of the ddj-sb. I finally solved the problem and thought you would need it as well.
