If you select zone 2 and select it again it toggles to zone 3. Matt, Solution 1, is Matt suggesting that you go to a more expensive or a less expensive Blu-ray player to get an analog out? But don't take my word for it. Is this possible and if so how? What can I do to help debug this? In this config, the digital signals will continue to play through your 5. What is the rationnal for not be able directly from the receiver? I've not tried using an iPod or iPod to actually store the music. !? If you wish to disengage the speakers then turn off the second zone. I use a Harmony One to control it all.
I havent had time to contact Denon but I did try adding an analog connection to no avail. At one point I was near the receiver and gear and wanted to turn the system off, so I did it manually instead of using the remote. You now only have a main room that can pnly have a 5. Zone 2 is all set up and I can play music from a usb stick and internet radio without issue. It's a very versatile device. My apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I wanted to put this out there for future google searchers.
Here's my goal: main zone - living room with 5. There may be an audio delay and there's no assurance that zone 2 and the Main zone will be in sync with one another even if playing the same source. This is on Denon's side and not a data problem. A few questions: Is plugging in headphones to the pre-out a valid test? Maybe I would go that route first since you can pick them up for about 35 bucks each and you need two. To run more than one Activity at a time it is necessary to change your devices power settings to remain powered on when switching between Activities.
Any ideas how to set this up the right way for the sub to make noise again? Yeah, the ability to do digital in zone 2 and I thought zone 3 was definitely a selling point for the Denon, as there are very few options at that level that do. I can play from my phone through this bluetooth link, so that works. When the Nuvo turns on to tuner, the Zone 2 should be on, main Off. I have also tried 7. To run more than one Activity at a time it is necessary to change your devices power settings to remain powered on when switching between Activities. This is not outlined in the manual at all? My previous Denon 1604 didn't have 2 zones, but did have 2 sets of main speaker connections. Thinking about it, if this is the way you have it set up it could explain your sync issues between the zones.
I have the app and it allows zone control thats as far as I can help mate as I dont have that amp but selecting zone 2 on your amp should play what you select to that zone specifically. However, I can't get anything to come out of the pre-outs for zone 3. It's generally not possible to output a digital source to zone 2 - you can only send an analogue input to zone 2. Any idea's why the sub can't be bothered to cme on sometimes? You could connect one set with banana plugs and the other with spades. Thank you for contacting D+M Customer Support.
Hi, Newbie here, sorry if this is in the wrong place. I looked into the manual and did find things but it didn't work, must have been doing something wrong. I don't use Zone 2 at all. When I turn off my receiver with the remote or by pressing the bottom on the front of the receiver, I want it to turn off completely. Out of the same box, and optical audio out into the optical audio in. I still suspect the system is not seeing zone 2 because I dont have surround sound speakers in the main zone and it is not firing up the surround back jacks.
After unplugging the power cord, take corrective action such as firmly re-twisting the core wire or taking care of the connector, and then reconnect the wire. It does play well with the 2 speakers assigned as surround back. It is the general consensus of not to recommend these things and instead simply steer a user toward a 2. I'm just wondering why it's being turned on in the first place? I have received my Denon 1910 and had a good play around with it and done the auto audio setup. However it also confused the beejeezus out of me. Can I use the Zone 2 playback feature to play Airplay streaming music while using the main system audio for sound from my Xbox One? Have Zone 2 set up for separate Room Audio and it works fine. I also use the fronts and the 4806 to stream music and other audio from a Sonos Connect.
On the next level budget, I would use impedence matching volume controls in each room that had speakers and hook both rooms to zone 2. I have the Denon remote app installed. You have not therefore configured the back amplification reassignment correctly or you are reassigning the amlification from being for the second zone back for use with back speakes. I like the way the receiver sounds but the manual and remote are not user frindly and will take some time. If you are playing AirPlay in Zone 2, you also have to play the AirPlay stream in your main zone. Denon may have improved on this by allowing you to send a digital source that's being played on zone 1 to zone 2 at the same time. To be precise: I want a set up where zones 2 and 3 are always of, and zone 1 is powering two fronts and one sub regardless of input.
This is due to a couple of reasons. And all I had to do was unplug the thing for a few minutes. I think it's an awful limitation of this machine and those looking to use this box for this purpose should know about it. This is a matter of engineers focusing on their product instead of on their clientele, when they should cover both. Also the volume issue im having is with the denon remote app it wont go over 81. Let me know if all works fine. I can play it in both zones or the main zone fine what i cant do is play it only in zone 2.
About an hour later I read your comment and decided to unplug the 4806 - which had been stripped down to basics while I was troubleshooting. If you have done this and still get no sound, make sure you have zone 2's volume turned up out of the box default volume is all the way down. Have I mentioned that I hate the remote? You can make only the front two front speakers output just stereo audio by engaging the receiver's stereo listening mode. If you are running only one set of speakers you can go directly from the receiver to the speakers with no impedance matching controls. Please refrain from pictures of boxes. So could only turn off and on zone 2. It's a shame that you have no room for rear surrounds, you're missing out on good effects, especially with the receiver you have.
