From my experience, I have played CoD4 on both consoles and have noticed that it's a lot harder to aim with the Xbox 360's controller. The final addition to the controller is the extension and headphone ports between the sticks, much like the 360 controller. The Xbox controller is far to big and not rounded enough which makes for tough gripping. Now I have a 4 which I got when I heard 15 would be on it. I know both are made by the lowest bidder to save money. Is Microsoft placing too many eggs in its Kinect basket? It is hard to grasp at first simply because of how the D-pad on the 360 is made, but it actually allows for faster execution at least in my case. They also moved the PlayStation button further down between the sticks.
You really have to try to press these buttons, so don't worry about accidentally sharing out an episode of your noobishness on accident. If you have limited space, then the Xbox and its power brick won't look half as neat as the PlayStation. I just picked up another DualShock 3 for use with my MacBook Pro. The only flaw with the 360 controller is of course the d-pad. Both of these consoles have high points and low points but in my opinion, I think that PlayStation3 is a better purchase than the Xbox 360.
