Live and Let die 25. The voice actor for both Bond and Goldfinger was absolutely awful while the voice actors for Pussy Galore, Tracy and Sanchez were passable to good. Turkey Shoot would remind you of that game. Charlotte Flair made her entrance in street clothes looking good in black. The finish was clever with Jimmy hooking the arms of Miz to win in a clean way, which showed how crafty the Usos are. Bryan climbed the empty pod and sat on it to get away from Joe.
Baron Corbin made his entrance and Braun Strowman was up next to a big pop. Some clips aired from the movie and the people that put the movie together, including The Rock, commented on the film. From its title, you know immediately how I Hate Kids is going to turn out. There's a slight gruesome action, though not well made and most likely won't even entertain fans, let alone casual viewers. The production design is lousy and the plot, albeit a remake of a 1982 film entitled Turkey Shoot the original title of this one , is a rehash of many others, often better films. Bryan was booed by the fans while saying that he is being punished by management for making the fans the authority. Overall, the show exceeded my expectations a bit because of how enjoyable the Chamber matches were.
There was a shot of the Toyota Center with the crowd looking fired up. Shane went up another turnbuckle, jumped off and Jey decked him with a superkick! If the two guys win, they still look weak for needing two people to beat one guy. It was not a face turn by Lashley as we would see later. Once that is revealed it is hard not to feel absolutely horrible about how Turing's life turned out after the great mark he made on the biggest event in human history. Strowman grabbed a table from under the ring. The presenters have the really bad one-liners, and the beautiful Hollywood smiles that light up the screen like a flash-bang every time they smile.
There were near falls, even one after a running knee, where it was truly shocking to see Kofi Kingston kick out and stay in the fight. They had a nice mix of big moves, technical wrestling and a creative finish to the match as well. Bryan ran the ropes, Kingston with a leapfrog and a back elbow by Kingston on Bryan got a two count. Bayley and Banks with knee attacks on Tamina. Instead of the kids going to the cops, they blackmail the serial-killer.
Logan and Morgan climbed a pod. Burgess, as you might expect, milks laughs out of facial expressions and his relationship with his cute dog. Kingston managed to take down Orton with a dropkick and Styles hit a modified backbreaker on Kingston. Supporting actors Charles Dance, Rory Kinnear and Mark Strong all contribute characters that are more than mere ciphers. Naming the machine Christopher after his best friend and first love? McIntyre worked over Strowman with chair shots.
Analysis: Good segment in terms of adding more fuel to the fire of this three way feud that will eventually lead to a WrestleMania match with Rousey, Flair and Lynch. Of all the missed opportunities, the lazily designed enemies are what sting the most. Benedict Cumberbatch is a revelation and he brings real humanity to the tortured Turing. Getting 34 minutes meant that they had a lot of time to tell a story and I liked the way Banks sold that shoulder injury right until the end of the match. Bryan whipped Joe into the edge of the pod. Can he accomplish all of this before game over? Even viewers with fortitude for cheap effect or story will waver. The crowd is fully behind Kingston and thought that was it, but it was just a two count.
Bayley kicked Deville down while Rose kicked Bayley down. Rough week for Jimmy after an arrest in Detroit when he got into an argument with a police officer. The Spanish announcers were shown at ringside. Tamina went up top for her shitty Superfly Splash to eliminate Logan and Morgan. Thankfully, the answer to that was a resounding yes.
With Kingston staggering in the ring, Bryan hit the running knee to the face for a two count, which drew huge cheers and Bryan had a stunned look on his face. Folks like Liv Morgan just looked awkward trying to dodge punches and getting punched anyways. Why do you think Nick hid his past from Sydney? The premise was not believable, and actors in this movie, should not list this on their resumes, this looked like a college class project. Like I mentioned though, it was not entirely bad… just mostly bad. That drew a huge ovation and it was a loud noise.
Few if any characters are given much to work with, but the actors contribute very little personal flair. Awesome showing by both men. In the buildup to this match, we saw each brand pit three teams against each other to decide who would start the match. Rush with a distraction, Balor sunset flip on Bobby and Lashley stomped on the ribs of Balor. The Smackdown announce team mentioned the two matches we know for WrestleMania: Brock Lesnar vs. I suppose the temptation to do that with tag teams in the chamber is too overwhelming to ignore, but I prefer the spots to flow naturally. Balor ran the ropes, Rush grabbed his foot and Balor chased Rush leading to Lashley slamming Balor back first into the barricade.
