When I tried to push it in myself I was unable to. Remove the backing and stick it secure. It does look a helluva job! I would think that the bumper cover will have to be removed to install a new sensor. As the car gets closer to the objects the system will also sound warning beeps to warn you of an impending collision. The grill on the advance does not have the sensor holes, not even blanked, so I would need to swap the grill, that on its own is £500 according to the dealer! Any advice on where I can get this done outside of the dealer? Could the battery converter causing this problem? In our days many consider the parking sensors to be a weakness point for the driver, a feature designed if you're a woman or you're driving a really big car.
Does anyone here has the same problem like it do? The first version of the system was deployed on the sold in Japan in 2003. I am having the rears fitted by the dealer but even then they do not integrate with rear camera, just a buzzer. Can the other 2 be added easily, ie does the wiring exist? I think I will just have to live without them. I have found a local car HiFi centre which will attempt it and build 2 brackets for the grill plus a canbus for £900!! A later version of this parking technology, launched in 2006, added integration with parking sensors. I don't trust my dealer at all.
