The message stated gear shifting error. There is a fairly comprehensive procedure for servicing the transmission and it requires that the fluid be checked hot and cold. Yes, I've had extensive heated conversations with my service writer and manager. Just recently, I have noticed some lag in the time it takes for the transmission to change gears - since yesterday it does not want to switch into the 4th or 5th gears - unless I do it manually with the shifter. I bought that car for my dad with cash.
Under the hood, red dip stick. Thanks Muhammad answered 6 years ago is it an auto?! It has been doing this since I purchased the car and I have had it looked at by the dealer on several occassions, each time they told me they could not find and problems with it. Hope this post will help someone in the future. I have an appointment with the Lincoln dealership tomorrow, but wanted some advice before I took it in - at least sound like I know what is going on. Allow the fluid to drain, making sure that the fluid is between 80° to 120° F 27° to 47°C. I bought an automatic to elevate my bad shifting and now my automatic does not Know how to shift gears c'mon!!!!!! I just ordered them and will put them in tomorrow, ill let you guys know how it turns out, peace.
I bought an automatic to elevate my bad shifting and now my automatic does not Know how to shift gears c'mon!!!!!! A short time later I had the car on my lift in my garage and noticed a drip from the tranny plug. The main point being made is you don't need all the special tools ford says you need. You will need to get piece of correct threaded pipe to screw into large drain nut after you remove little center plug. The transmission components on the inside looked fine, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and what was done to correct it. You will need a special fitting available from Lincoln and screw it into where the fluid level indicator was. A small amount of fluid may run out.
On my Lincoln there is no dipstick it has a sealed transmission. The car is too far below the radar to matter from a corporate view. I saw them with my own eyes. Yes, I've had extended stays inthe service bay. Then remove the small bolt at the vertical back of the case and add fluid there until it starts to run out the bottom of… Fluid is normally added to this transmission with a machine that pumps it up a valve on the bottom of your transmission case. After a while, close to the end of the warranty I took it to a ford dealer and they actually listened to me like I wasn't crazy. .
I build residential air conditioner parts for a living. Just connect a plastic tube to the end of the grease gun and connect it to the valve on the transmission and pump it in. As for all the complaints with transmissions with this car, Ford should have something in place to take care of this. From line to line should be 1qt. Please leave a reply post if you have filed a claim i filed mine today.
Yes, I have some rattles. I do not work for Ford. If none dribbles out, put little plug back in bottom of pan. Go to this website and file a claim if you are tired of the run around. I will post this everywhere!!!!! You will have to figure out to do the same. It was shifting fine at 10 am when I dropped it off. My only complaint is they do not clean the car before returning it to me.
Yes, my transmission has been replaced. Then remove the small bolt at the back of the case and add fluid there until it starts to run out the bottom of the case where the other bolt was removed. And it sound like the bearing in like a pully is going bad but it sounds like it's coming from the bell housing? The transmission was intermittently hard shifting when you switch to reverse. With engine running put vehicle up on hoist level as possible. These transmissions are designed under normal driving conditions to never have to be serviced and that includes the fluid.
After buying multiple Sony products across multiple years and products platforms, I've determined that they do not meet my criteria for durability. Your vehicle has no transmission dip stick, here is the procedure from Lincoln. Allow the fluid to drain, making sure that the fluid is between 80° to 120° F 27° to 47°C. If filled from rear plug no nipple needed and that hole is up higher so no drool on you. Also if pump in thru bottom I just think it might be more of a mess.
