Thank you again for your attention. I changed the trans fluid, but it still feels stiff. They can figure out what part or repair kit you need. By increasing the camber in the way that this unit does, it puts more load on the bearing and within only a couple months of installing it, the bearing becomes noisy, than gets sloppy, and than you car sounds like your front end is going to fall off on mild bumps. If it had separated, it could render the gearshift useless. I have a mini 2009 with steptronic transmission.
Want to have everything be super tight and nearly click into each gear with more of a solid metal feel. There is no feel of where the various gears are and you are left to guess the approximate position for each gear but once you do find a gear, the box accepts the shift without issue. In our case, the rubber surrounding the spherical end on the cable had worn away almost to this point. They can figure out what part or repair kit you need. The contact started the ignition and shifted into reverse however, the gear shifter failed to move out of reverse after several attempts.

Thanks January 20, 2015 Followup from the Pelican Staff: The cable may have popped off. It makes a grinding noise only when shifting from 3rd to 4th or from 5th to 4th. I would assume this is the case if it fell off. I am frustrated that the dealer and manufecturer continue to deny that the vehicle was recalled and try to have me drive the unrepaired vehicle. Cable issue or transmission issue? I still managed to crack it though. Would this be caused by broken cable? July 28, 2017 Followup from the Pelican Staff: The cables are likely work out. The housing either has three grooves or is smooth. Anyway, we managed to glue it together and reassemble it again. I held my cable on with a nylon tie until the new cable showed up. There is no way to view the external portion of the shift housing without removal.

If they were on the way out, removing them may have been the last straw to wear them out. You will need to remove this bracket. The center exhaust pipe is supported near the rear of the center tunnel by two rubber mounts bolted to a bracket.
Check the ends where they connect, are they loose? Now remove the oxygen sensor wiring from the two clips holding it to the heat shield. Sounds like a nut is loose and a waters is rattling around. I could feel the difference even backing out of the garage. I now see that there was a recall regarding shift cable detachment, can that be the problem? Shift cable problems are common. How much movement should there be? This cable over time can corrode under the shift boot mounted above the transmission and its need replaced in order to have proper shift function. Is this a competitive price or are they trying to rip us off? Give our parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799. Once the ends are disconnected, squeeze the metal clips holding the cable ends into the black plastic holder and pry each cable end out See. They can figure out what part or repair kit you need.
March 16, 2017 Followup from the Pelican Staff: Could be trans mount, engine mount, shift cable, shifter adjustment or a problem with the gearbox itself.
