Still the climax is quite suspenseful and the Templars look terrifying. On their first night, the interloping couple witness bizarre happenings, soon learning that this tiny hamlet harbors a horrifying secret of sacrifice and slaughter. The town must sacrifice seven maidens on seven consecutive nights every seven years. With the tolling of their dissonant bell, every seven years, for seven nights, seven young girls are given to them so they can rip out their hearts and place it in the maw of some Lovecraftian fish-god statue as an offering. I particularly like the super slam on zealous religious followings. Listagem de Artistas com a letra f.
Therefore, it might have made a bit more sense had I seen the others. The young couple hear strange noises at night, and after they employ a local girl, Lucy Sandra Mozarowsky , they begin to find out why the locals are not so keen on talking to strangers. Only the village's dumb Jose Calvo and a young orphan Sandra Mozarowsky make acquaintance with them. Had the series continued it would have been fascinating to see where Ossorio would have taken his monsters; possibly to space if they'd gone on to do ten installments. Night of the Seagulls 1975 Now the story jumps forward to the present day 1975 and to Dr Henry Stein and his wife Joan, who are moving to a remote seaside village. I'm guessing that the picture's quality has a lot to do with the original elements and how the movie was originally shot. My favorite is Friday the 13th! Doctor Henry Stein Víctor Petit and his wife Joan are moving into a very primitive coastal town, where they are met with distrust and hatred from the locals. This is apparently not true, but in the context of the film, it makes sense considering we're told that the damned souls of the sacrificed girls become the seagulls heard flying over the village at night. There isn't much of a back story to flesh this one out. Recommended only for fans of 70's Spanish horror and for people that want to complete 'The Blind Dead' series of films.
I listened to the commentary and did a bit of research and discovered like many old horror films, this movie along with the whole series has a cult following. That night the Knights come for the Steins, Lucy and Teddy who was injured by the villagers for helping the Steins. You name it: mysteries, favorite directors, crime, killer plants, zombies. Henry Stein Víctor Petit and his wife Joan María Kosti come to a fishing village in the middle of nowhere, where Henry is to replace the old local doctor, the locals seem hostile and refuse to talk to the young couple.
Ossorio wrote the script, but cited difficulties with the producers so nothing was ever shot. It's the third following of the first great success and immensely popular ¨Tombs of the Blind dead¨ which to be continued by a trilogy : Return of evil dead, Ship of Zombies or Blind dead 2 and this one also titled Blid dead 3 or The night of the sea gulls. Every seven years, these people must give up seven of their children,so that the others might live. Should there be resistance, the shambling, hooded skeletons will kill everyone in the village as they did years earlier. This third following ,the first sequel was ¨Return of evil dead¨ , from the original ¨Tombs the blind dead¨ also we find the famous blind dead zombies which rise from the tombs 500 years after to wreak havoc upon some beautiful Euro-babes. The genuine feeling of unease returns in a big way, closing the book on Ossorio's legendary creations in a subtle, yet modestly satisfying fashion.
