Much of it is centered behind the impact point. The nubbins won easily in terms of accuracy. The alignment is so easy all you need to do is pull the putter head back and watch the ball fall. The overall feel of the White 2-Ball is exceptional. You'll feel it in the instant you wrap your hands around one.
Feelwise, however, the Odyssey held its own. This is an extremely pleasant putter to use -one of the most enjoyable we have ever used. In any field of endeavor, sharp, perpendicular lines and pointy shapes are used for maximum, precision accuracy. The launch of the Odyssey 2-ball putter five years ago changed the game — it was just so easy to align those two ball-sized discs with the hole. Weight is relocated well back from the face. It seems stupid staring down at all these different balls and rings.
Hence decided to go in for a new putter. The now legendary alignment aid is second to none. In spite of an inability to attain any sense of precision, most of our crew was fond of this Odyssey. If you need a little extra edge on the greens this is the putter you need. Putts were good; they were just not precise enough to satisfy.
The roll created by the face-balanced White Hot 2-Ball is also first-rate. The two testers who tried this Odyssey during playing rounds both benched it quickly and put their first string putters back into the game. Only had it a month but have noticed the improvement in my putting already. It worked exactly that way and after 2 hours of trying out the other putters mentioned above, I discovered that I was nailing the max with this one at the putting green inside the store. The internal cavity back design with its wide, round sole plate also provides good forgiveness. Our actual testing plan for the 2-Ball included an extended series of scoring contests for it against other, proven putters from its general class. This is a putter that you have to hit which helps with feel.
This very helpful in maintaining direction for long puts. The ultimate in preventing 3 putts! This holds true even with very hard, two-piece balls. All also agree that the fit and finish is very fine. Unfortunately, most putts ended up beside the cup, not in it. Initial, indoor sessions with the 2-Ball yielded similar results. The 2-Ball showed good touch, but proved incapable of truly precise, left-right targeting. It is very easy to make puts from 8' or less.
Dominate The Game On The Green! I was using the odyssey dual 330 before and i could not make any putts. Before i could hardly make a 5 footer, now i am sinking 10-15 footer left and right. We all know that the 2-ball putter has become the standard others are measured against and this well-worn design just keeps getting better every time they re-do it. This Odyssey design does conform, however. It came down to how the clubs felt.
A deviation of a half of a degree causes substantial path error, but such minor misalignments are not readily apparent with this system. What prompted me to try this out was the promise in the specs and revciews that once lined up, the stroke would be straight. Bought mine for a steal, 69 bucks, on eBay. Reactions vary as to the beauty of the 2-Ball, but all agree that the design is an intriguing one that begs to be tried. More balls are not better.
Ironic really as the 2-ball design was inspired by the original 3-ball putter, which did not take off for similar reasons. All registered in England and Wales. This putter is gonna be in my bag for a long time. My choice was easy in the end and it helped my game a lot. The 3-ball visual system of alignment is effective in encouraging the user to stroke through the ball and down the line.
Previously I used to miss those close putts owing to minor twisting of the grip. I've played 4 rounds so far and have had on an average of 1 one 3-putt per round. The long putts are also not a problem as I now putt past the hole unlike before when my long putts were lags. But I hadn't imagined it would be this good. Looks like half a wheel behind the ball and you feel like it should weigh a ton. A similar design that used three ball shapes had, years ago, been deemed non-conforming by. The Odyssey 2-ball putter uses golf ball-size discs on the top of the putterto help the user align square to the target.
Bluntly put: Round forms cannot be pointed as accurately as can straight, singular or parallel lines. Once i got this putter my confindence went up. It is hard lining up the balls enough to hit the thing in the right direction. Would suggest this one strongly. The distance with this putter is very easy to control, but not the accuracy.
