There was a time when the heating and ventilation system on most cars was simple. The interior temp sensor is subject to a different type of attack, from dirt and dust being drawn into the control panel by a small aspirator fan See Photo 5 that is attached to the control panel. Removing a flap or door motor to allow manual operation will determine whether the problem will require a dash removal to repair or replace a broken door or flap See Photo 9. Debris falling down the defrost ducts is the most likely cause of door or flap failure. This redesign keeps the valley pan sealed and leak free for the rest of the life of the car. The engine needs 4 things to run well: air, fuel, compression, spark.
Made of kind of squishy plastic, these adjustment screws twist off or break, letting your low beam dip straight to the ground. If the fan clutch is wearing out and getting jerky, it can cause the fan to explode in spectacular fashion, inevitably puncturing the radiator and potentially destroying the fan shroud as well. The other night, I barely made it home because it almost stalled. With a dual-zone heater system, the valve will have two valves and three hoses going to the heater core, which is divided into separate sides. . It feels as if a few cylinders are misfiring.
The ambient temperature sensor is usually located in one of the under-bumper air ducts to reduce the possibility of being influenced by radiator or condenser heat. Charlie Aug 22, 2011 Hi!! Now to upshift, you had to pull back the lever, instead of pushing forward as in the pre-2002 models. Unfortunately, the plastic pieces under the front of the car are vulnerable to attack from curbs and things, so they are often damaged or missing. Since water pump failures are common, lack of heater output at higher engine speeds is often a clue to a cooling system problem that must be resolved before the climate control system is suspected. It feels as if a few cylinders are misfiring.
Thanks Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. Sometimes I can get off the gas and it corrects itself and everything seems fine!!! I still cant understand if the rest are defective, how come mine is considered not defective when its inoperative and same problem as thousands of other 2004 525i. When it first started happening 6 months ago the mechanic replaced the exhaust throttle control position sensor and the problem went away however the engine light came back on after a few days. It's a fun-to-drive sports sedan with punchy performance and crisp handling, yet it's as quiet, comfortable and refined as we expect a luxury car to be. This has been intermittent for about a year now. This specifically applies to the V8 guys out there, and not just the 5-series.
The car over another few months my wipers would cut on by themselves and I couldn't cut them off. I will post if there are any and I will look into the info you gave me. Imagine it like the cross stay on a truss going towards the front of the car. Then I noticed the smell a few seconds later, so I opened a window expecting to find smell a fire nearby or hear sirens. This filter is accessed through a small cover on the right side, under the dash. After 2weeks it happens again, but this time my car hasn't moved for about 4days, last encounter with it, it stalled on me an completely turned off luckily right at the moment I was pulling into my drive way so I pushed it in.
The first two items that come to mind are the interior and ambient temperature sensors. This recall involves aftermarket parts sold by Valeo. The car, too badly damaged to repair, was hauled away for eventual scrapping. When you remove the motor you should see a resistor plate. The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture. On 5 Series cars, this is easy as they are located in the plenum area under the hood, and can be accessed by releasing the retainer wires and lifting the cover.
The vacuum leak guesses are about too much air. Does any of this sound like a bad fuel pump? Sometimes I may have to pull the car over and shut it down, pull the key and restart, the problem may or may not go away upon driving again. Liquid filled from the factory, the bushings in the thrust arm are notorious for going bad. I am going to change the fuel filter tonight. Thanks for all the info.
I struck his rear passenger side corner. Make sure any large debris is removed from the heater housing before installing the new filter. This vehicle only had 3000 miles on it, purchased in June of 2011, and is garage kept. Control of the various flaps and doors to channel air from the heater core or evaporator is done by small stepper motors. Car was not running on all cylinders are result. The biggest problem here is access, as some are buried deep in the wiring and dash components. I'll be driving along 25mph as I begin to accelerate it may feel as if a few cylinders are cutting out and not accelerate.
It does not read the faults in the car, such as burning lights or if the door is open. I would love to find a low miles m5. This has been intermittent for about a year now. The classic symptom of a blower resistor failure is that the fan works on the highest speed, but not on some or all lower speeds. The recall began Aug 2016. I took the batter to auto zone and had then fully charge the batt. If you back off the accelerator and coast the problem may correct itself upon slight acceleration.
