Nov 03, 2010 thats easy,locate the fuse for the electric trunk lock,take the fuse out,hook a piece of wire to one of the contacts where the fuse goes into and hook it to the battery or an acc line in the fuse box then hit your electric trunk switch and it should open,if it doesnt work try the other side where the fuse hooks into Apr 26, 2009. I butt connected the wires in the jumper rubber junction and the trunk light turned on and the trunk release works again! If it's not the fuse then there may be something stuck in the latch mechanism, I had 4 golf bags in mine and one of the shoulder straps was jammed in there, neither the button or the key fob would work, I had to fold down the rear seat and reach into the trunk and physically pull the green safety handle to release the latch. Saved ke a trip to the 200 buck deductible stealership. Pull the yellow emergency trunk release handle that should be dangling right beside the area where the trunk latches to the car. Pop cover off and undue the rwo screws. This should get the trunk open so that you can expect the locking mechanics for damage: bent steel, something foreign stuck inside, bad cable, etc.

It is Fuse 22 10 Amp located in the Rear Fuse Block in the left side of the rear compartment, behind the left rear wheel well. When I plugged the connector back in I saw a little spark :O. I checked my manual and searched the forum but didn't find anything.
Mine came switched to the 'Off' position when I bought it and it took me a few days to figure that one out. The fuses are in the trunk compartment fuse block. They should be able to figure out if the component needs to be replaced or if there is a short or some other problem with your Charger. It might save you some time and trouble if you are trying to figure out a problem with your trunk release system. May 21, 2012 So your trunk release button on the dash dpesn't seem to open the trunk. All my other lights seem to work fine. Also there are 2 fuses for this system. Now if the trunk latch button is popping the fuse then disconnect wiring to trunk latch in trunk and try the button again. Electrical components such as your map light, radio, heated seats, high beams, power windows all have fuses and if they suddenly stop working, chances are you have a fuse that has blown out. All my other lights seem to work fine. I think the my have been defective but now I have no light even with the old good bulb.
If a fuse is blown, replace it then check to see if the brake light works. . I think it might be a fuse but not sure which one. If it did now blow the problem is something to do with the part of the circuit you disconnected. I hope someone can help. The wires as they run from the body to the trunk lid is a good place to check for a pinched wire or short.

The round key should open the trunk, if not then it might be the wrong key or the trunk lock cylinder may have been replaced. Does your key fob button open the trunk? Some components may have multiple fuses, so make sure you check all of the fuses that are linked to the component in question. The unlock solenoid may be the culprit if it shorted out, just a possibility. . . . .
