We have now owned ours a week and have logged over 1,00 miles including one road trip. The rotors where out after 9000 miles while the front pads go after 3000-4000 miles. Dodge replaced it but had to order one in. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. It's also less enjoyable to drive than the Mitsubishi Outlander and not as roomy as the Ford Taurus X.
Intermittently lags or does not start for long periods of time. Don't let Dodge get away with this and help make these problems an active recall!! They cant recreation the problems so I pay deductables and rental car fees to get back the same broken car. From cheap brake components to expensive ones the life span on the brakes was extremely poor. Also have a load test done on the battery to make sure it isn't failing. If it starts and runs, the security system is not the problem. The neutral safety switch is not a very expense part.
The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would suddenly stall. I have to turn on the switch several times until the car start. I have actually been stuck somewhere because my car has failed to start. Afterwards, while driving at unknown speeds, smoke emerged from the passenger side door, the other remaining doors failed to lock, and the windows failed to operate. From built-in coolers to built-in booster seats, this vehicle is perfect for families and road trips. This is definite an area that needs to be address before purchasing any new vehicle to insure that the battery is a new battery.
The starter relay is also located in the pwr. Safety Every 2009 Journey includes antilock disc brakes, traction control, rollover-sensing stability control, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags for all three rows. As of September 15,2018, neither dealership nor Chrysler Corp will listen to me about the tipm issue. I will never in my life by a Dodge again My car has been doing it as well 2009 journey. Where it will start just fine one day then the next it will fail to start.
Wipe the area around the dipstick clean to eliminate the possibility of dirt entering the transaxle. It can't always be the battery. If you try this make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set because your bypassing everything. It does not want to start like it should. Unfortunately Dodge, nor the dealers have identified the root cause.
. The contact also mentioned that the battery needed to be charged in order for the vehicle to start and power steering fluid was leaking. Car does not turn off. I guess i should have thought of that earlier. Also my locks and windows and turn signal don¿T work right.
I think it's a combination of laziness and greediness with there money. The intierior is not the prettiest, but that's not what Dodge was going for. My starter was less then 6 monhs old. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The dealer cannot diagnose the problem. I just want to know what needs to be fixed!!! The customer already had the Battery, Starter, Alternator, and compressor replaced, only to have the same issue. There is no real solution identified.
This kind of vehicle is unsafe and very expensive for the average american vehicle owner. Now the other two mounts have completely broken thru and are being replaced. The cause is definitely the neutral safety switch. It's incredibly d … ifficult and it makes no sense to me, but there you have it. I replaced the battery which, by the way, is located in the front wheel well! Not to mention the thousands that have already been put into these problems that did not fix for long. I asked them if they could work with me to cover the cost of the battery since it was not even 2 years old.
