If you still want to flush the system just for the heck of it remove the radiator cap and pull big hose off the bottom of the radiator remember, its plastic, be very careful. Once you pull the motor try the blend door and make sure that it moves through it's entire cycle by hand and to verify that's your problem If so, have fun: Well i checked the ac and that works fine,it kicks on and off fine,everything seems to be ok except for the luke warm air when the heater is on. I have been struggling with this problem for quite a while and first let me say that to remove and replace the heater core from a 1988 Ford Taurus is not an easy task at all. Now get that nasty old core out, reverse directions with the new core, and if your impeller blades haven't rusted completely off like mine are, then you should have heat rolling out those vents!
