When Abby refuses to take responsibility for the girls' lack of training, Kira takes matters into her own hands and brings in outside help, which infuriates Abby. It has a plot, however loose it is. Jill says they are a team and she will always support Nia. After awards, the moms are angry that Kalani went up to accept the award with the group after Abby told her to. Meanwhile, Nia and Kendall shoot music videos; and Holly and Jill allow their competitive natures to get the best of them.
Drama between Tracey and Kira backstage at the competition causes Abby to threaten Kalani and Sarah's spots on the team. Abby's dance was pretty but I didn't think the dance went with what they called it. Abby tells Nia and JoJo to get ready for the group and Nia asks if the others will be there soon. Jessa snaps and says to get out. Abby says Cathy has paint by numbers hair. Also, I really don't want to get all Abby-ish, but Ava is just uncomfortable to watch. She already has a mouth and she's what, 12? Kalani won Jr Dance Awards a couple summers ago - I think what winning does is affirm that these girls are the real deal, top dancers in their age group in the country. .
Meanwhile, Abby tests the girls with a challenging prop; and Kendall and JoJo go head-to-head in a bracket-style showdown to see who will get a solo at Nationals. Right before Nia starts to run her solo, Cathy and a few moms crash their dressing room. Abby schedules the team to attend both a competition and a convention. Then Vivi runs onstage with a flag and they circle around her. This is so producer driven it's ridiculous. Nia and Kalani are each performing a solo against each other. After Mackenzie's huge win against her big sis Maddie, Abby tests her confidence with a big opportunity--will she be able to handle it? The moms take their seats and the number starts.
Edited May 11, 2015 by NextIteration. The exclusion of Jojo and Nia was horrible - why would you not want your whole team at Jump? Maddie and Kalani are finally going up against each other as well as against Ava. When JoJo runs some improv ideas, Abby wants to give corrections, but Jessalynn isn't into it because at that point, JoJo was just marking steps, not dancing full-out. Nia is very upset that she was singled out. Mac had the personality factor until I saw that Meet and Greet. She says they have big shoes to fill.
