The vehicle ate through brake pads, rotors, and tires with a voracious appetite. Nissan you would have come out much better to replace the transmission. Somehow it took over a week to fix and they did not give me a rental until I talked to Consumer Affairs. The replacement car just has to be big enough to hold a harp. I am still currently driving our 1993 Villager with 271,000 original miles on it, and never an engine fix issue.
I finally pulled the wires out that holds it in place after almost getting into an accident. While I understand that I purchased a vehicle used and wear and tear is not the responsibility of the manufacturer, I think a vehicle in alignment that wears out tires every 20-25k miles and transmissions that only last 20k miles is unacceptable! I swear there is a major electrical issue because this thing works and does what it wants. And of course Nissan isn't helping with anything!!! Original review: May 9, 2015 We purchased our 2005 Nissan Quest from friends in 2009. There are some problems which I just deal with: the radio sometimes won't turn on, or it will and it just emits a way-too-loud buzzing sound--sometimes it works normally. Quests without a sunroof can get an optional rear-seat Family Entertainment System that features a flip-down, 6. I was fooled by the Sales Rep and of course Nissan. We are now having issues with the power sliding door, which is no big deal to us.

I do all maintenance since I first got the van. Dollars rounded to the nearest whole dollar. The upper two models add a handy luggage rack and the outside mirrors are heated to maintain optimum visibility in cold weather. The dealer advised I talk with Nissan Consumer Affairs. For about three years after owning this vehicle, I experienced daily buyer's regret. The Mercury Villager has been even less popular with only 22,046 units sold during 2001.
On my 4th set of tires that have finally lasted 3 years of normal driving, went with a set from Pirelli that have a higher weight rating. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. It was well worth the money we spent on it. Love a Nissan Engine, J. It is always smooth when accelerating and at highway speeds. Not only will it meet and exceed your passenger requirements, but it also features outstanding performance and handling, plus a broad spectrum of safety standards to keep you safe and sound.
I will be purchasing a used power steering pump from a wrecked vehicle that comes with a 12 month warranty and trading the van in for a Toyota or other make. General Comments: This is the worst investment I've ever made. We had all 4 replaced, they were all bad. Side Impact Crash Test - Rear: Similar to the front side impact test only now the focus is on the rear passenger. Checked fuses - no answers as to what is draining the battery- and our car is now sitting dead out in the street. The quest is now at 205k miles and the only things I've had to do to it was change the oil every 5-6k miles with synthetic blend and later high mileage castrol.
Original review: June 8, 2016 I have a 2012 Nissan Quest that is 90,000 miles. I don't like being nervous every time I go over a bump afraid the alignment is going to go out. It happened on the highway where I was almost rear ended by a semi. I phoned Nissan and was promptly called back. Standard on all models were such niceties as anti-lock brakes, power door locks and front windows, air conditioning and a security system with remote keyless entry. Nissan, please back up your crappy products and extend your warranties until you can start producing good quality cars and safe cars for your consumers. I am trying to get my money back but doubt I will be able to.
It's a bare bones model and I believe it was being used as a transit vehicle before us. I will be contacting Nissan today to see if the radio can be fixed and for what costs. Now just today I have problems with the transmission which is weird, it only has 83,000 miles which the Nissan dealer doesn't want to cover. Like most minivans, the Quest has seen declining popularity. Copyright 1996— The Auto Channel.
It jerks really hard between gears. Since then I had many problems during the years. I had it back for 10 days and now it's the dealer again. By this time we are thinking and looking about replacing this Quest with something else so we were passively looking at options but not with a lot of urgency. You kids entertained yourselves with books and arguing when you were little. When driving the van just shuts off or slows to 5 mph no matter how much gas you give it. And from my understanding this is a common problem with their 04, 05 and 06 but Nissan couldn't care less.
We had always owned Nissan and were very happy. A car that will not spend more time in service than home. A Value Proposition — Resplendid with all its feature sets, as a used car this Quest has been a value for the investment. General Comments: The van has plenty of power, and with the aftermarket tires and rims, it drives like a much sportier car. Reliability History Reliability History The reliability charts are based on responses on hundreds of thousands of vehicles from our latest Annual Auto Survey. I plan to take it out of service this spring and do some pretty extensive preventive maintenance on the areas I haven't bothered with since buying it, drive it a couple more years, then probably give it away to a needy family.
The exact requirements are established by individual manufacturers. Yet it broke down on me. I rebuilt the front suspension at 158k miles. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. As the spring started and the temperatures increased we started to notice a delay when shifting from drive to reverse. In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2002 Nissan Quest. The seats are very comfy, and the sound system is super impressive.
